Setting

“Indeed the very seat of the federal government, Washington D.C., has been reduced to what is now known as the Capital Wasteland”. - John Henry Eden. ‘President’ Of the USA

One-hundred and eighty years after the great-war, humanity survives, but is far from thriving. In a land, torn to shreds by nuclear warfare, a once proud city now lies in ruins. This city, is Washington D.C.
D.C is a dangerous place, epic battles rage within the city day in and day out. The Brotherhood of Steel, originating form the west coast, and the Supermutants, gargantuous creatures with superhuman strength and size, clash, in intense battles all throughout the city. The area around the city is rife with raiders and slavers. Not to mention the creatures. Gigantic beasts from the depths, and even larger ones on the surface. Each even more deadly than the other. Then there’s the Deathclaws, but I wont even go there.
There are other people out there too. Amongst them, the regulators. People who enforce the old laws of America. But there’s no court system. Commit a crime, or do wrong by these people and you pay with your life. As mentioned before, the Brotherhood of Steel are a major influence n the wasteland. The most technologically advanced people out there, their power armour really gives them the edge in combat, nobody else knows how to salvage it off their bodies, let alone wear it. Their holed up in the Citadel, a giant military instalment built soon after the scourge of the Pitt. The Outcasts, follow the ‘true mission’ of the Brotherhood of Steel. They left the brotherhood as they didnt beleive in Elder Lyons' goals.
There are also a few beacons of hope, humanities last bids for civilization. Megaton, a city built up from an old airfield, is near the ruins of Springvale, an old pre-war town. Megaton was founded by a group of travellers heading for the vault, needless to say, they didn’t get in. So Megaton was formed. They got some scrap from nearby, and before you knew it, there were huge walls encircling the town. Then there’s Rivet City. An old military aircraft carrier, converted to a town. No one really knows how it was founded. But there are rumours a guy named Pinkerton had something to do with it.
The raiders make up a vast majority of the wastelands inhabitants. The fight in tribes, or gangs in a bid to secure their superiority and of course, riches. But hardly any tribes have a vast enough hoard to be considered rich, or large enough numbers to be considered superior. The Raiders often pick out easy targets to rob, and probably kill. More often than not, their morality is indeed questionable.

Character List

Name: Dave
Played By: Me, Tehbuddha.
Appearance: 5ft 9”, Less-than average build, Shaved hair
six: Male
Age: 20
Race: Caucasian
Ethnicity: Raider
Role: Tribe Leader
Weapons: ‘not-so-trusty’ 10mm pistol., combat knife.
Apparel: Raider painspike armour, Raider Wastehound Helmet(during sandstorms/storms).
Strengths: Tactical knowledge, fast, agile.
Weaknesses: Unable to handle weapons with a big ‘kick’(recoil), not very strong.
Personality: Aggressive to all who are aggressive to him and his tribe. Thinks of his tribe as family. Thinks of him self as a ‘survivor’, labelled, wrongly, as a raider.
History: Dave grew up with his brother in a makeshift shack near Ridgefield. It was okay, no-one bothered them because of a rumour that it was haunted. Its wasn’t so bad, there was a water tower nearby, and there was more than enough to eat, mole-rats often wandered past. His brother was a superb marksman, rarely missed a shot. It was as close to paradise as you could get in the wasteland. Then this guy called Arkansas showed up. He told them the water tower was his, he started laying mines everywhere. On one of the usual journeys at night for water, Dave’s brother passed Arkansas, asleep as usual, and headed for the water tower. Dave was in his shack when a gunshot smashed the silence of the wasteland. He glanced out the window to find Arkansas holding the decapitated head of his brother by the hair, shaking it in a taunt. Dave picked up his brothers gun and ran. He ran out into the wastes at the dead of night. After an hour running, he collapsed. He woke to the company of four ravaged looking people, much like Arkansas. They gave him water, and some food and a bed to lie in, although he was in an unknown, rundown barn. He felt at home. Its now eight years after the incident with Arkansas and Dave, after rising through the ranks of his ‘tribe’, And impressing the now deceased leader, he has been named chieftain of the tribe. He has honed his hand-to-hand skills with his combat knife through many years of fighting other raiders. And after overcoming his fear of using his brothers pistol, has found that he is a decent shot. His tribe is neither rich nor feared, but they make do.

And so, the story begins...

Its July now. The wasteland sun is scorching the ground and the waves of heat dance about merrily. But the life of a raider is far from merry. Dave and his band of raiders were trekking the wastes , trying to find refuge from the blazing sun that was beating down on them. But the sun was the least of their worries. They were being hunted. Several raider tribes had heard of Dave’s band had recently assaulted a caravan, and that the brahmin they killed was carrying food, a nicesiety rarely found out in this hell-hole.
Eventually the group came to a halt under the shadow of a cliff-face. They stayed until nightfall, resting and recuperating. Once the sky was dark, they headed for base camp. No one with half a brain would traverse the wastes at night, unless they were desperate. Dave lead his raiders over rough land for what seemed like hours. It was tiring work, and the fatigue showed.
It was decided that they should set up here and rest until morning. Confident in the fact that the other tribes would be unable to track them, Dave rolled out his sleeping mat and lay down. Before Dave was able to fall asleep, he heard a prolonged growl. Startled, Dave quickly rose to his feet. His eyes darting in all directions. His eyes fixed on seven pairs of glowing eyes.
Knowing of the peril he and his bad were in, two words escaped his mouth, "night ghouls".

Don't mean to interrupt, but shouldn't you wait til people actually join before you actually start roleplaying?

Yes and split your thread up into an Roleplay Sign-Up and the actual Roleplay Thread. Or else everyone's posts will get mixed up with the character sheets.

Okay, i've made a second thread, try to post you comments there, to avoid breaking up the story. Not that there is much of a story, yet.
Anyway, the reasoning behind posting befor i had anyone else was to show where the story starts, simple really. Oh, and boredom had a little to do with it ;)

Also, Im going to edit that post and add in the new characters there. Iff it gets too long (im not sure wether this site has a limit on post sizes) I could always edit this post too.
