Started playing New Vegas today, opted for PC version as my PC more than meets the requirements for the game. However, even after switching things down to medium and low settings, switching shadows off etc. the game is still running terrible. Walking around is fine, but the second there's someone else about issues arise, and when I'm in battle with more than 1 person, the game becomes completely unplayable. Was really looking forward to this game so I'm not overly happy!

System has 3GB of RAM, quad core 2.4GHZ processor and GeForce 9600GT graphics card.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I wrote something different the first time... It's hilarious to me that on a forum for a game which features, among other things: prostitution, rampant drug use and addiction, mass murder, and explicit violence; Bethesda has seen the need to censor a synonym for the word poop.
