Military Base

This thread might contain spoilers for Fallout 1.

I'm at the point where I just convinced the Brotherhood of Steel to help me assault the military base. I travel up there and the 4 of us easily manage to take down the 4 mutants guarding the entrance. Once they're all dead I can get on my radio and convince whoever is on the other end that everything is fine. I loot all the bodies for stimpaks, ammo, etc... anything I need that I can carry. The problem is when I try to open the main door it sais it needs a code. Their isn't a holodisk or anything simmilar on the bodies of any of the super mutants I just killed, none of the Paladins with me have anything to say, I even used the steal skill on the Paladins and they don't have any kind of code on them (though I did discover that they're a quick source for a few extra stimpaks). Where can I get this code to access the military bunker? I can't pick the lock, no matter how hard I try.

The two ways I remember off the top of my head are to either use the radio to tell them to send help, which they open the door to do; or look around at the things you can pickup and use. You can rig an explosive to blow the door open

I tryed telling them to send help but nothing happened even if I used the wait option for days. Any idea where on the ground it is? I scoured the place as best as I could. How do I rig the explosive to the door as a last resort?

Strike the part about blowing the door, thats part of Fallout 2.

The code is on the mutant who was closest to the door, the door can also be picked with electronic lock picks.

There should be a holodisk on one of the guards.

THe other option is the lockpick skill, which can be boosted slightly by using the Electronic Lockpicks.

Great... I've tried twice with no Holodisk. Is there any other way to get in besides that? I think it may be glitched.

Edit: Nevermind I gave it one more try and one the super mutants had the code on them this time.

You can actually open the door via explosives. You can tie a dynamite onto a cart and push it toward the door. You need to arm the dynamite first, and you need rope of course.

Ha! You're right! Same base, different game. After all these years I still get areas confused? Either that's saying something about the amazing density of material in the old games or it's saying something about my memory--uhhhh--let's go with the former. :P
