Freezing issues

So am I the only one? I scanned briefly through the forums and didn't find many people have game freeze issues.

I got my game not too long ago and it has already froze SEVERAL times at many different spots. Love it, great game, but seriously.... It feels like I'm have the same problems as Fallout 3 which were HORRENDOUS especially after the DLC's.

At this point, I just had a freeze 3 times in a row whenever I would try to save.

I have a new PS3 240g and it's awesome it hasn't had any problems until this damn game. I was so afraid of this happening after playing the last one. I'm only level 14 too. I've had to manually turn my system off every time. This is so [censored] up.

Anyone else having these issues? And if so is there at least a minor solution.... Because as much as I've now lost faith in Bethesda I'll still continue playing if there is a trick to minimize freezes.

P.S. It's official. EVERY TIME I try to save it freezes. Auto save or manual save it freezes. Just great...

This is a General Subjects discussion forum, not a Tech problems discussion forum. There are separate tech forums for the various consoles, and for the PC version as well.

i dont understand it? i have not had the freezing problem with any other game since back in 1999 when i was playing my ps1 and it would overheat?? they hyped this game up to be so amazing but really if they dont fix all the bugs and glitches its just a waste of space on the shelf. and they cant complain about the game being so big its easy to miss things. theres plenty other games out there that are free roaming and noone ever complains so seriously about them.

Dante, the freezing issues on my game are so bad this will probably be the last Bethesda or Obsidian game I will buy. It seems to me that they made a game, play tested it for fifteen minutes or so, and shipped it out for the unsuspecting masses to fill their pockets. I will be breaking out the old Xbox and playing some Elder Scrolls. At least then the company cared about is fan base.

I've had many freezing issues as well. And many pauses. When it pauses I tend to release the controls in the hope that it will come back. It sometimes does. Doubt releasing the controls has anything to do with it.

The game didn't seem to freeze until I got deeper into it. Add a couple of companions, bunch of weapons and so on, and get into the higher levels, and that's when it starts. Lower levels had no issues at all. I usually try to save often, although I guess I wouldn't if it froze when I did, but I don't have that particular issue.

I installed the initial patch, but I can't say that made a great improvement. It will still freeze.

It is a great game. Didn't think I'd like it but you get into it and it grabs your interest. It is tough to play it when you have to worry about the freezing issue, but I hope they get us some more patches soon. One of the other forums said that a patch may be going to Europe tonight, and while I'm not exactly sure if that means distributed or not, at least it's progress. So I'm staying optimistic.

P.S. Definitely released too soon. I've never had these types of issues on any other console game, and some of the COD games send hordes of enemies at you all at once. I almost feel like I'm playing a PC game on an underpowered machine. Like I said, just sent to market too soon.

Well I've got one. I've had the game since the midnight release when it came out. I havent played it in about a month, except to see if any of my issues have been resolved through Patch or other means. Mostly because it freezes every 10 minutes and I have to restart my PS3. Try playing this game 10 minutes at a time for a few weeks. I called the customer support line and they said "We've dealt with the issue on the latest patch" got the patch. Same thing. I reformatted my PS3 thinking, maybe its an issue of memory. Nope. Also, in the 10 minutes at a time I've managed to get to Level 20, none of the companion quests *Except* the [censored] dog brain quest even start. Not Boone, or veronica, or raul. But most importantly, early in the game (at least by level 9) i had gone to almost every vendor and sold them out of all money, and ammo, and it hasnt come back. ever. When i find a vendor i havent come across yet its like find the Arc of the [censored]in covenant. Then that person doesnt have anything. my wife doesnt have the problem. when she sells out the gun runners, about 30 minutes later they have momore money and equipment. not me. And i cant get rid of motor runners gay hat. Quest complete. Bounty taken. Cant get rid of it. And boone drops everything i give to him at some point. Give him a tricked out gun. and 2 minutes later he runs out of ammo and drops it and attacks with a mechete that he pulls outta nowhere. So long story short. Bethesda Can [censored] themselves. i will NEVER buy another of their products. and I think after all the wanna be sequels Fallout has lost a fan as well. I remember When the demo came out for the first one. always been a fan. i have all of them. i still play them all. FO3 and FONV have ruined my gaming experience. Oh and here's a tip bethesda, If you cant or for some reason wont find people who seem to actually *KNOW* what they are doing in building your games then you should probably shut your doors before you go bankrupt by hiring people like obsidion.

Here's one for ya. I've been playing Assassins Creed Brotherhood, and in one example i fought 93 templar in one huge fight. In this fight, there were random civilians wtching, some helping, hokers prospecting, all the while people flinging around killing and throwing sand in peoples faces in a beautifully rendered City block in rome, without missing a beat, but on FONV for my PS3, if 2 supermutants or, god forbid, a supermutant AND a nightkin are on my screen at the same time its like trying to play the game on a seriously underpowered computer.
