Fallout is just awesome

Post » Sun Nov 14, 2010 2:50 pm

Its kind of an odd thought, but I've been trying to work on a version of the Discovery Channels Theme song (Known as The World is just awesome, or Boom De Ya Da) that can apply to Fallout. The reason for this being, is every time I have used a Fat Man on a person, or a group of people or just something I want to have go boom, I always think of the Boom De Ya Da part of the song (The song is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at_f98qOGY0 if you are unfamiliar) when its firing and explodes.
So I figure why not have a full bunch of lyrics, something to sing to yourself on the long treks across the Wasteland. I have some written up, they are posted below, I wanna see what other peoples versions might be, or suggestions of changes on mine, but most your own... So listen to the song, and think of your own lyrics... Just something for fun.

I love the long walks
I love the clouds so high
I love the ruins
I love the treasures nigh
I love the Wasteland
A place where all is seen

Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da

I love the hunting
I love its strategy
I love the Brotherhood
I love technology
I love the Wasteland
And all its life and death

Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da

I love the Fat Man
I the Stealthy Boys
I love the Vault Tec
I love the Enclaves Toys
I love the Wasteland
A place to be so free

Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da

*fading*
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da
Boom de ya da

What? How is it creepy? Parodies of the discovery channel theme are made all the time, in fact its encouraged.

As for the rest of you, thanks for the support on it! Does anyone have any alternate verses they would put in?

All I have to say is "Awesome".
I sing the original everyday in Choir, and now it'll never be the same. Haha.

Yikes! No criticisms? Really? I guess I better call a few friends, hit some thrift shops and get some cheap airsoft/blank firing guns, see if I can't get cracking on a live action version...

Anyone know where I can find some low quality cheap airsoft guns? Or find a Fat Man replica?

....Anyone?

Or find a Fat Man replica?

Other than the Fatman replica sitting at the office, I have no idea.

Sidebar: Nicely done.

Blast... this might be tougher than I thought. Now I have to plan a heist to Bethesda to steal the Fat Man there, along with convincing people to help out with it. Fortunately, finding things for costumes isn't hard, thanks to the glory of thrift stores, and junkyards. Anyone got any suggestions on what I could do? Like locations in Northern California, or someplace to purchase cheap airsoft guns? (I'd just paint them and make them look beaten up, and any time they fire, special effects, not that hard.)
