Morrowind (presumably newbie) Mod Problem

Post » Sun Nov 14, 2010 10:57 pm

Hi guys!

Having enjoyed Oblivion, I decided to give Morrowind a go.

I have installed the Better Bodies 2.1 (or whichever the latest one is) along with a few other mods which I installed myself. They all showed up under 'Data Files' when I run Morrowind and I can check them and run the game.

However, the mod (Better Bodies) does not seem to be working. There is absolutely no difference in graphics, which must be wrong? I'm probably making a newbie mistake, but I am at a loss.

And for the record, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with an ATI Radeon Saphire graphics card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Morrowind = the right choice! :goodjob:

Lets ignore "a few other mods" for the moment and think about BB...

Did you get any error messages when you loaded up the game?

Off the top of my head it sounds like you've not put the data files in the right spot.. but that should trigger some errors..

Did you use the installer properly? Its been so long since i installed BB but from memory it had some handy installer that did all the effort for you..

And check again that you ticked the box :D

I agree with this, sounds likes its installed in the right place as it appeared in the datafiles menu so it leads me to believe that he didnt tix the box!

Windows 7's Program Files (x86) folder is a little quirky in how it allows applications to access the folder and the system. If you've installed Morrowind to that folder, I suggest moving it to another folder like Games\Morrowind or something similar. Also, try running Morrowind as admin and with Windows XP compatibility (right click on the morrowind.exe file and select the compatibility tab). Of course, make sure all of your mods are checked off in the data files section of the launcher first. ;)

Yeah, I've definitely installed it correctly. I used the installer and then 'checked' the box under 'Data Files'. It's just that they aren't loading :L

I'll give Jac's advice a try, thanks for the help guys!

EDIT: So I'll just copy every single Morrowind file over to a different folder?

In the end I just cut+pasted everything over LOL.

Thanks for the help guys, I'm sure the Mod is now working (I can tell because my character now has a nice set of blue underpants!)

Again, thank you for your help :D
