Hircines Summoning Day

Post » Sun Nov 14, 2010 11:21 pm

On the wiki it states that Hircines summoning date in Daggerfall is the 5th of Mid Sun, now does Daggerfall refer to the game in which this is stated or the Province in which he is summoned? Im trying to explain how he would arrive in the mortal realm and unleash he era-ly hunt upon Tamriel.

Game, i'd assume. I doubt the Daedric Princes pay much attention to the arbitrary boundries set up by the Imperials

In TES2:Daggerfall the Mage's guild and some temples offer the services of their summoning chambers for high ranking members. Each daedra can only be summoned in this way on one day.

So would it be possible that Hircine could trick his followers into summoning him and then unleashing his great hunt upon them? And could this occur after the Oblivion crisis.

I don't think he has to be summoned, or that he just sits in his realm and waits for his next hunt to go down. I think he does it once an Era (or so, not sure on the exact frequency with which the hunt happens) because he enjoys the showmanship of it, not because he gets off on it

in daggerfall, the temples and mages guild refused to summon hircine. i think only the glenmoril witches would summon hircine for the player.

The witches didn't apply the date restrictions either because they had better relationships with the princes. Even so, it doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get it every time.
