Restoring your File System.

Post » Sun Nov 14, 2010 11:20 pm

Booting in safemode[just type PS3 safemode into yahoo or google] and picking Restore File System can be a big help to the freezing issues in the game. It will clear out corrupted data which can be a major cause of the problem. No patch can really take care of corrupted data that's already in your save file. Just prevent future problems.
So I advice you restore the file system before truly trying the new patch. Even if your starting new game. Corrupted data from other saves can make problems.

Just did this for the second time, just don't have the heart to test it now.
To this guy above me, all it did was f- with my video settings, it did not delete any information or content.

Its doubtful it will fix it, but I've found it reduces it to a manageable level. My freezes have an hour or so in between them.
