The Lonely Argonian Assassin

Post » Mon Nov 15, 2010 12:51 am

I have recently begun an ‘alternative reality’ (i.e. a new save file) campaign with my main character, He-Walks-Alone, in which he is attempting to rid Cyrodiil of all non-Argonian inhabitants. There are a few exceptions to the ethnic cleansing: Falanu Hlaalu really ought to be kept alive to…enjoy the surplus of corpses; my faithful slave Eyja in Skingrad won’t be killed either; for a switch I have decided that the Adoring Fan will also survive; finally, to our dismay, many NPCs are 'essential' and will live by default.

On this first sweep of the towns, He-Walks-Alone is not killing people inside their homes; he waits for them to go out into the streets. The only interior location where he will kill people is inside a temple. On successive sweeps this rule will be reviewed, as total elimination might otherwise be impossible. He-Walks-Alone's method of choice is by donning the Cowl of Nocturnal and sniping the townspeople with the appropriately-named Arrows of Cleansing. The AoE fire spell of the aforementioned arrows has led to some amusing deaths. One temple priest even landed in the centre of the alter, like a hole-in-one. (It makes me wish I was playing on a PC to take pictures.) :evil:

Sounds really fun. Though, what are you going to do about respawning guards and the inevitable lonliness of an empty world?

He is going to kill himself. By drowning (a humiliating way for Argonians to die).

Oh, how can Argonians drown?
Spoiler
eating poisoned apple *in water*.

I feel so sick for immediately thinking "Ohmygod that sounds like so much fun, I wanna do that!" ... But yeah, I love your idea. :P

I have considered this and come to the following conclusions:
1. He-Walks-Alone has already completed every quest I'm interested in.
2. He survived Morrowind as a vampire, where there are even less people to interact with there than there are Argonians in Cyrodiil.
3. I am not extending this policy to the Shivering Isles, so I have more people there to interact with.
4. Respawning guards sounds like unlimited killing fun to me. :goodjob: From an RP sense, I am putting this down to the Imperial Army trying to stop the mass murderer. B)

That sounds fun. I did something similar, killing every race except dogs and imperials.

the inevitable lonliness of an empty world?

Ah come on. Interacting with a NPC in Oblivion is like interacting with one of those dolls where you pull a string and they say one of seven prerecorded sentences.

Exciting news! Apparently my new flat screen is decent enough that I can manually take pictures of it. So I have documentation of my progress:

Unfortunately, I was too late to get pictures from Cheydinhal and the streets of Chorrol, as the bodies had disappeared by the time I got back. I haven't yet hit the Imperial City, so more to come! :D

[Edit]
Oh, and unlike American Civil War photographer Alexander Gardner, none of the bodies have been positioned by hand. They lay as they fell.

Does this have some correlation to the Lusty Argonian Maid?

How bout this:

- detonate ALL males from Cyrodill;

- get all ladies for yourself;

- become a legend unto thyself....
