Who here actually roleplays as a Vampire?

Post » Tue Nov 16, 2010 12:13 am

I do. Vampires in this game are [censored] amazing. Unlike the poser Twilight. Ha ha.
The demented dreams, along with the badass powers you gain and you new looks. No the typical sterotypes of vampires being gorgeous, but actaully being blood thirsty monsters.

I don't roleplay but I'm apparently one of the few people who prefers to play as a vampire, which I find kind of surprising.

Interesting to see the different lines of philosophical positions here! :) This shows the game is doing something right when it said "It is up to you!". I'm playing a vampire with great fun and interest, but so far the intention of Kitty is to make it a time-limited experience, as he misses much the taste of the woodlands during daylight and the search for rare plants and animals. But who knows what the taste of blood will do .. ;)

Looks to me the game could indeed be more detailed in socialising vampires, giving them new kind of friends and enemies in dungeons etc. A chance lost (!) as the vampire is one of the most amusing phases/branches of the game.

the only time i was a vamp was outta curiosity and because there was a cure quest. but if i ever would play sth like this, would be more along the 'infected knight' lines, trying to get rid of it and suffering from that dilema of being loyal to his do no harm oath and the physical needs / restrictions vampirism bestow upon.

Anything is possible with mods. :D

I've shared this on another thread awhile back so I'll keep this short.

One of my characters (K'harvu Indoril) is a Dunmer Vampire. His RP involves early work with House Indoril as a spy in Hlaalu which sent him into the ashlands where he was turned by Clan Berne. After living as a vampire for a time K learned that taking only a small amount of blood (based on the Oblivion feeding graphic - it can't be that much) his features filled out and he looked like a normal Dunmer. He was eventually approached by Raxle Berne who explained all the clans have secret powers (cf. Immortal Blood) and Berne's is the ability to pass unnoticed among mortals (note that Vincente Valtieri is likely a Berne vampire). K then went on to continue his work with Indoril and Berne until the Nerevarine destroyed Berne and K came to Cyrodiil to start again (Indoril is in ruins by 3E 433).

K'harvu is a very interesting RP character. I've played him almost as long as my CoC but didn't do the MQ with him. Getting the Vile Lair has really revolutionized playing him and he's one of my favorite characters ever. If they allow Vampirism in TESV I'll probably play a vamp (eventually) that is a descendant of K'harvu, probably his son.

I might try to roleplay a vampire soon, but in my previous experiences, they never fit my play style. But of course I am now more open to playing in various ways, So I think I can adjust accordingly

I always RP vampires, it was the main reason I bought Oblivion. Ingame, I live a normal life and feed daily to hide my vampirism(With Raven, female vampire character) or sometimes go on killing sprees against guards as a full-blown vampire(Draken). Both only wear fancing outfitting.

RP wise, both characters are purebloods. Born vampires. As shown ingame by Lovidicus son, vampirism is not only passed by a bite or scratch.. Hmm.

My main came to Cyrodiil from Vvardenfell. He contracted Porphyric Hemophilia there, and so I had to continue him on as a vampire. I have very mixed feelings, though. On the one hand, I love being able to interact with people and complete quests as normal, despite my disease. But from a roleplaying standpoint, it's hard to reconcile the huge differences between Morrowind and Oblivion vampires.

(Not to mention that I hate the way Argonians look with those beady little vampire eyes.)

I would say no, but I must caveat that by saying we have not tried. I'm afraid reading about it on wiki and the forums over the years has been enough to convince me that our tea cups belong under silver pots that do not pour red.

Tamika's is lovely, but blood? Not so much.

The forest elf loves dancing by the light of Massur and Secunda, but she would surely miss the kiss of the sun upon her cheek.

My words, preceeded by Acadian :)

Once I had an Vampire Argonian Archer. Lived in Skingrad. Though I got bored of it and I hated when my eyes turned into tannish imperial ones...

There's no such book, maybe a mod, but in Vanilla, no.
Only other way to contract the disease besides fighting vampires is do a certain questline, and be offered to be bitten, or eat an ingredient you get at the end of Mehrunes Razor DLC.
