Lesser Aedric Beings?

Post » Wed Nov 17, 2010 5:45 am

There are 16 daedric princes and the nine divines (aedra). But there are also lesser daedric beings, such as dremora, golden saints, hungers, etc.

Do similar beings that are aedra exist? Are there lesser aedric beings in the same way that there are lesser daedric beings? Or do the mortal races of tamriel fall under this category since the aedra are in a way their ancestors?

Thanks.

Yes there are. You know them as "mortals".

We also know them as pebbles and butterflies.

Now slightly less obscure, yes:

"There are all sorts of wielders of magic in Tamriel," she explained. "The Psijics study magic like its their painful duty. The battlemages in the army on the other end of the scale hurl spells like arrows. We witches commune and conjure and celebrate. To fell those orcs, I merely whispered to the spirits of the air, Amaro, Pina, Tallatha, the fingers of Kynareth, and the breath of the world, with whom I have an intimate acquaintance, to smack those bastards dead. You see, conjuration is not about might, or solving riddles, or agonizing over musty old scrolls. It's about fostering relations. Being friendly, you might say." - 2920 Series

Akatosh apparently has Jills, as well, that "mend minutes." Jills are female dragons, if I remember right.

Hmm, I haven't posted in a good while. And I don't know if I'm gonna keep posting, either...

I've always thought the TES universe was suspiciously vacuous of angels (apart from the 'angel' in the Sermons).

The Aurorans look rather "Angelic", which is ironic for Daedra.

edit: Golden Saints, too.

Also, I think Dragons as Lesser Aedra is an interesting avenue of lore that hasn't really been discussed. It also explains the presence of Dragonlings in the Mantella pocket realm of Aetherius in Daggerfall.

I like this idea, but it goes too far back to consider it serious http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Fanon.
