SWG's Skies

Post » Wed Nov 17, 2010 10:12 pm

Wow what a regret. If I cant somehow get back those over written files from this mod, then I will have to do a total game
wipe and re-install...everything! :banghead:

Any ideas on what files where overwritten and how to get them without re-installing? I suppose I could download
MW on another PC and try to assume the ones that are missing. What a mess.

Most the problem was the night skies, and the link to the night patch is caught in a loop of advertising on some
cheezy download mirror . The glare option turned my sun black too.

I'm furious at myself for not backing up my tex and mesh folders on this install. I usually do, but I let this one slide.
Never again.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

All of the sky models are in the meshes folder.

Sky_night_01.nif
Sky_clouds_01
Sky_moon_large

The textures all start with the prefix Tx_Sky_.......

Anyway, the link for his fixed night sky does work. The page it is on is a big mess and many people have complained about it in the past. However, i think the link on the page is somewhere near the bottom if I remember correctly, it is small and doesn't really stand out so much. :banghead:

I was referring to getting back my vanilla files. I have a bad taste in my mouth now. Maybe I'll try that sight again to
see if I can obtain that patch. Thanks for your suggestions. Most grateful.

If you delete the files from the folders the engine will look in the BSA file for the originals. You don't have to actually replace them in the folder.

Or, you could just avoid the scrotum-clenchingly godawful mirror that SWG was diseased enough to host his fix on and get it from the mod list on my site.

Gosh, I've been duped. I finally found the tiny link on the bottom right of the page. How pathetic. I was wrongly judging this
mod by this missing piece of the puzzle. Now that I got it going all I can say is wow, very nice skies! Ain't sure what the ini
tool does, the read-me don't say. To bad the sun glare overwrites my Vista black sun patch, I was curious to try it, unless
anyone knows a work -a-round. Anyway, nice addition to the game.

Thanks for the help folks.

@SWG: Nice mod and beautiful skies, but please do something about that night skies patch link. :shakehead:
