No it's not Obsidian's fault. The engine was very buggy to begin with, heck I felt that Fallout 3 was buggier than Alpha Protocol.

I think the fault lies with Bethesda. They clearly wanted to hit that October 22nd release date and gave Obsidian little to no time for proper bug testing.

Look at bethesdas history with the PS3 GOTY Fallout 3 and lets not forget the second Fallout 3 DLC, The Pit......which was so bugged to hell that it had to be pulled from Xbox Live only several hours after it went on sale there. Bethesda have a known history for extremely poor bug testing. And no doubt they gave Obsidian any real time for it either.

I must concur.

I have played several of Obsidian's other games, and when they are allowed to have their way and some free range, they can pump out some decently polished games and support them pretty well.

When it comes to stuff like games getting released before their time, you're generally going to need to be pointing the finger at the PUBLISHER, not the design team. The publisher sets the due dates and cracks the whip, because it wants it's money. The design team just tries to salvage whatever integrity they have left in as short a time as they are given.

That's nonsense. Oblivion and Fallout 3 are buggy, so are all Gamebryo engine games - but NV takes it to a whole new level. There is NOTHING in any of those games as bad as any of the MANY game breaking bugs in NV.

Bethesda has to take some of the blame, but Obsidian is NOTORIOUS for releasing broken, buggy messes.

Kotor 2: broken buggy mess
NWN 2: broken buggy mess
Alpha Protocol: broken buggy mess
NV: broken buggy mess

They have very active defenders, though, constantly blaming others for their laziness and incompetence. Obsidian is a joke developer is what it comes down to.

I don't see any Xbox 360 issues mentioned anywhere in this thread, just speculative ranting, which doesn't actually help anyone who would like to play the game but is experiencing issues.

We don't allow rant threads here. Locking this.
