best weapon

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:06 am

I have the staff called apocalypse witch is powered by grand soul gems, the ones that cost 500 GP for each soul gem, but I also have an ebony claymore, 2 handed, witch is also good, but I also have a single handed sword, witch is as equal as the claymore. so what do you think is the best weapon in oblivion? excluding mod weapons. my apocalypse does 33 frost damage, 33 fire damage, 33 shock. so it is pretty powerfull, but the ebony claymore is 7 damage, but you decide.

I find custom weapon enchants are best. That being said, perfect madness longsword with frost or shock damage followed by weakness to frost or shock and weakness to magic. I also like a daedric shortsword with shock damage, weakness to shock and magic.

I love the Perfect Amber Longsword from SI. Or the Perfect Order Sword. Both my new favorites!

i honestly liked the Thornblade...and i thought Umbras sword was one of if not the strongest longsword....edit (SPOILER) the thornblade can be obtained as part of the main quest and Umbras sword can be obtained by doing Clavicus Vile's quest (daedra shrine)

Umbra by base damage is stronger, but a custom enchant on a daedric, amber, order, or madness (the top-tier quality of the last 3, obviously) can do more damage with and equally efficiant soul trap (because a soultrap that long is only useful for casters in truth). Again, back to the idea that a custom enchant is usually best. Personally, I don't like dealing with recharging, so I don't use enchanted weapons until I get Dawn/Duskfang.

Yes. Mages spells are the most powerful weapons. At higher levels, Mages are by far the most powerful characters in the game.

But in terms of physical weapons, I like the Perfect Madness Sword made with the matrix for damage health.

I love how the claymore version of Shadowrend gleams in the moonlight, or in a dark dungeon. I use this mostly, but recently have been digging the Akaviri Dai-Katana. My go to weapon though is usually a bow. That is for my ronin character. My mage uses a bow and a blade for emergencies, but mostly deals death with his magical prowess. Daedric Short Sword, just like schmoe's except I added Turn Undead and Light.

Crusader Relics, or some of the high-level Amber or Madness Gear from the Shivering Isles. Alternatively, just take a custom-enchanted weapon of your choice.

Custom enchanted dealing all three elemental damage types, all four related weaknesses, and a one second soultrap at the end.

Bows are slightly different. 100 point drain health, max magnitude Command Creature/Humaniod. All for one second. I've gotten a perfect amber bow to deal 372 points of damage with a single enchanted arrow. It did require the weapon switch trick, but even without it still would hit for 240+.

As a Mage/Thief, my favorite weapons are both my hands and a bow n arrow. But I never know which bows to use. I usually end up using an Ebony Bow. But I've always liked how the Elven bow looks.

Real warriors don't fight with the best weapons, but with the ones they like the most.

The best weapon is your bare hands. If you're a master of the art of Destruction, that is; magic at the master level completely overwhelms any weapon in the game.

Also: the staff you're thinking of is Apotheosis. You can buy it from Rindir at Rindir's Staffs.

Apotheosis is the process of turning into a god; a fitting name for a powerful magical weapon.
