I just caught the TES IV: Oblivion bug

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:04 am

My name is Yazil and I think I just caught the TES: IV Oblivion bug. I have had the game for a few weeks but just really caught on to how great this game is. It all of the sudden hit me that this game is best played like real life!!! I shut the gate of oblivion at Kvatch. Then I joined the the blades. Then I got bored because I am not such a goody too shoes. So I stole a horse in Anvil and a killed a few guards. Then had to kill a Legion Knight. I have decided to be my own person in this game and see where it takes me. Really an amazing experience. What a great game. I am not sure whats next but that's what makes this game quite interesting.

Anyway, welcome to the forums. I'm glad you enjoy Oblivion, and if you thought the beginning of the main quest was fun, just you wait...When Oblivion get's it's claws in you, it won't let go.

Welcome!

I must say that you should make another character too. Another is lawful, good character and another could be an "murdering bastard". It is fun to break law, but, you will get mad that the guards hunt you where-ever you go. I did so and I got bored of that everyone hates me in that game. If you complete Thieves Guild and become Gray Fox, (and get Gray Cowl) that rules. You can break law as much as you want. But yeah, it's your choise.

When I started the game, I just said "wow, you can do whatever you want in this huge world" but I didn't really know much about the game. When I learned more and more of the game, it became more cool and cool. And now I can't believe that a game like that really exists. It's not just a game, it's really another life. Who knows what will I learn when I play it more.

Have a good time in Cyrodiil, friend!

He means bug as in his caught addiction. A bug is another way to call an illness. You basically he has caught the Oblivion bug and cannot stop playing. :D

It's good that you're pleased so far. You'll find that, while it's not without it's limitations, Oblivion is a very large game with many different things to do, what sort of character you play, what quests you do, and all that are your own decision to make, so play it however seems most pleasing to you.

It's a good idea to be careful about killing people, though, as aside from the immediate consequence of a bounty, while Bethesda has taken measures to avoid breaking the main quest, some side quites never got this treatment, so it's always possible that you could kill someone who seems unimportant now, you might later learn that because you killed that person, a quest has become impossible to complete, but as the amount of options you are given in a game increase, it's only natural that the amount of ways that you could potentially close off some options to yourself will also increase.

Welcome to the BGSF's. Oblivion is great indeed. Take the time to see the scenery and explore all it has to offer. If you really like it try morrowind :D
