Playing "Brink Style" in other games?

Which is a perfectly fine comment to make, just not in reply to my comment that has nothing to do with that.

Not really, you said Mirror's Edge has all the parkour stuff Brink has, and he replied that systems are different making your statement irrelevant.

Really?! Quote exactly where I say that 'Mirror's Edge has all the parkour stuff Brink has.' This should be entertaining.

If you want to practice "Brinking" then go rent/buy a copy of Mirror's Edge. At the very least you should be able to download the demo from PSN/XBL or purchase it for cheap on Steam.

Mirrors Edge? Not really, because you have to press more than one button to do the moves, but I see where you're getting at. I don't think you can shoot people while doing the moves? Not sure I sold that game a while ago so I forgot some of the things you can do/not do.

Huh? You can do everything the SMART system does and more effectively by manually inputing your commands in Brink. I think you need to read up on Brink a bit more.

From that it seems you're saying Mirror's Edge has everything the smart system in Brink has.

And yet I never actually stated that. Funny how that works, huh?

EDIT: In fact, the only thing you quoted that compares Mirror's Edge to Brink was made by another poster.

You mentioned mirror's edge, then he replied to it, then you replied to him. Considering only things in his post is about Mirror's Edge, would assume your statement referred to Mirror's Edge.

And yet you implied everything and I never stated what you said I did. I used the term "Brinking" in reply to the original post in which I suggest playing Mirror's Edge. I then reply to the post where they say how in Mirror's Edge you press mutiple buttons and in Brink you only press one. In this reply I simply state that you can either use SMART or manually input all of your movement commands "in Brink". Again, I never reference Mirror's Edge.

It is quite interesting to see what happens you you take a reply out of context as it only pertains to the post to which is was replying. You can make a post say just about anything if you take it out of context however. In this case I never directly compare Mirror's Edge to Brink, you only assumed that I did.

Well, sorry for assuming you were talking about something you were replying to.

No blood, no foul. I'd much rather be playing Brink than discussing it though.

If you want a more brink styled one, watch this because these guys are wearing headcams

That is awesome. The stuff in Brink is surprisingly realistic.

One of the devs actually did the same thing - He strapped a camera to his head and did some parkour around his yard.

Yes, but Aubrey Hesselgren made the mistake of not putting it on youtube.

I'm quite sure this is how they collected their source material for Mirror's Edge. They even adopted the slightly different view-position from the camera.

A very good series about actual Parkour is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMppD-bUNWo. (Thanks to Cash monkey, who posted this first on these forums.)
