[wipz] Never Die!

Post » Wed Nov 24, 2010 5:18 pm

I?m not actually using it anymore, using Cobl?s death handling now. :)

So does his method work nicer? Should I just look at that instead of borrowing from your work here since I want a completely different result?

Also, not sure if you have done it or not, but I was just envisioning your work here, and thought it would be really cool if when you die, your avatar falls down dead like normal, and then a ghost shader copy stands up out of the same location and then maybe a portal is spawned and it svcks you into it with the push actor command. Just a little visual rather than a screen load. Maybe you did something cooler than this... just an idea.

Yeah you should, it?s so easy to use and really works well. :)

That?s a nice idea, but then that would imply you body was left behind and that wouldn?t quite go with the rest of the mod.

But I don?t even try to explain exactly why this and that happens the exactly the way it does, or why something doesn?t. No matter what all this death stuff is far fetched. :P

Ok, I?ll start packing the mod. :)

It will be 1.0 beta in the end, I tested pretty damn hard, so 1.0 but the beta status will stay, if for nothing else, because it?s compiled with Obse 18 beta 6.

I must say this is shaping up nicely, and thanks for the radio station!

In keeping with suggestions, why not for a future version have it so you fame/infamy determines where you end up if you die without a stone.

Oblivion realms when the net fame/infamy is say lower than +15 (The Jaws of Oblivion are hard to escape). However if you are over a threshold, you end up in a somewhat more, I hate to use the word, but I guess it's where I'm pulling my idea from, "heavenly" plain.

The idea could stop here, but a great follow up would be:

This plain could house some NPC's whom were heroes of the past with interesting stories, and to get back one simply must find the guy who says your not quiet ready to 'retire'.

Something to that effect anyway.

Edit - I forgot this also makes it matter how you play you character. So your a thug? well life is going to be a lot more cruel in death. You play as a Paladin? enjoy the red carpet treatment back to the world of the living.

-Cheers

A good idea, I?ll give it some thought. I wouldn?t want the good guys to too easy a path though - in Oblivion your fame/infamy is kinda an ON/OFF thing, usually a character goes in the same direction the whole game.

So good chars would have it too easy, even though one would think the good guys are the ones who would use the services of the chapels - and thus acquire a beacon. :)

Hey thanks, it?s the best station I have ever listened to, it?s very diverse, strictly non-format radio which still maintains a certain consistent style. One of those rare good stations you can find nowadays. :foodndrink:

How the heck do you even report a problem anymore?

Where's the "report thread" button?

edit: nevermind, it's on the bar that DarN hid for us.
