Yes, and he won the war for Tiber initially. Afterwards, he was made to guard the soul stone that held the prince in a very cramped space (for a dargon).

I was under the impression that Red Dragons were refugees from Akavir and that they were accepted into the Empire. I know I've read a (pre-Oblivion) description of the Imperial City that refers to them swimming about in Lake Rumare. We also can't forget the emblem of the Empire - the Red Dragon thing. What I expect is that the Akavirian Black Dragons (who were supposed to be all dead (I think)) are allied with Alduin and THEY are the baddies, whilst the good old Red Dragons are still the gooddies. What I hope Bethesda doesn't do is make the dragons mindless beasts as I don't think that fits with the lore - although they have their own language so my fears are probably dumbfounded. I would like to see some friendly dragons here or there as well. :vaultboy:

Yeah I was thinking of this too. I would be disappointed if the game has me running around exterminating all dragons. I want to see some good dragons as well. If I'm just some dragon exterminator with one dimensional evil beasts I admit I'll be disappointed.

There are a few things called Dragons, Akatosh, Ysmir, the Akiviri dragonfolk, Peryite looks kind of like a dragon, seems every race has it's own dragon legends. Could just be the entities the Nords happen to call dragons were banished and they call Ysmir a dragon out of respect for their might. No idea if any of their lore says he manifested ever.

Uhmmm ... Sacred to the septim bloodline? Since when?

Dragons were wise creatures that were respected by the Mer, and then the Nords came and were all like "LOL WHATS THAT? LETS KILL IT!"

"It was rumored that they moved closer to Cyrodiil, and it may be for this reason that dragons are sacred to the Empire. The legends tell of their aid during wars in exchange for shelter."
Do some research friend.

The only dragons that were refugees that went to Cyrodiil were the ones that were driven out of Morrowind by invading Cliff racers. To my knowledge, the dragons of Akavir were enslaved and then went extinct after the war between Ka Po Tun and Tsaesci. The only dragon sacred to the empire that I know of is Akatosh and when it talks of Akatosh's "kin" it means the other 8 divines.

Depends on how you look at it. If these are in service to Alduin, they are "Jills," a type of dragon spirit that has been bound to only certain tasks for thousands of years, only acting in any capacity during Dragon Breaks, and even then in limited numbers and fashion. So that seems most likely to me.

Yes, but I thought that the dragons of Vvardenfell were refugees from the whole Akavir debacle - I just thought it would be a bit much to say "the refugees of the place where they were refugees form this other place" point still stands though, I thought they were allied with the Empire and the Dragonborn.

On that note, and I know a large number of you may want to kill for me saying this (:P), I want to ride a dragon. I don't want any of them to be dumb beasts, but befriending a dragon who allows you to use them as a mount is something I would actually like to see.
