Bethesda is likely saving the awesomeness of the Commonwealth for themselves for when they make Fallout 4.

OT: I wanna see a fallout in "ronto" if you havent played the pitt that is fallouts version of toronto which is said to be a place of great power.

there would be 7x the amount of weapons just in that DLC then there would be in FO3 (Kanada has around 2-3 times more guns then they have in America)

but the reason you know about he commonwealth and that is was brought up so much is something called Exposition, which is a way of saying, thats where the next game is.
Like how everyone in Morrowind talked about the potential succession crisis in cyrodill and then the next game was in cyrodill which following the heir around the place, only in that case it turned out totally lame. So probably the Commonwealth wont be a cent as interesting as its hype, but thats where the next game will be. All the stuff in FO:3 was pretty much a gaurentee of that.

i was thinking the same thing but in my imagination its not just the commonwealth as you know the commonwealth is kinda close to chicago..... i also thought up a fake city.... a city thats like a huge wall seperating the commonwealth and chicago.... its ment to hide a loading time because the game would be probably 2x the size of fallout 3...... So there would be 3 cities in the game and you get to choose which city to fight for kind of like the factions in FONV
