Im thinking it is money. It is small, can be folded, or is a coin.
People who have lots of money seem happy, and when people are low on it, they seem sad.
Royalty might have lots of money, but they still recognize it.
And one could live without money, It is just very hard to do so.

I'm thinking it's money too, and more specific: coins.

1. I'm tiny, that I can fit almost anywhere
Pocket money.

2. If there are lots of me I can make people really happy if there is none of me, people can be very sad.
The more, the better...

3. I am noticed by Royalty
In many countries, royalty is displayed ON the coins.
And in some countries the currency is called "Crown" (Kroon).

4.You can live without me, but it would be hard not to.

Forgot all about this for a while. For those of you who guessed coins, you are correct. He gave her a special Saskatchewan Roughriders Loonie (Canadian Football) on Sunday (she's a Rider fan). So those of you who guessed coins are clearly the most elite of these forums.
