I bought Fallout 2 on cd rom not long after it first came out and when I install the game the background colors go nutts and then at the start menu of the game I have the same problem.

Ive thought about just buying Fallout 1 2 & Tactics on steam, ive owned fallout tactics forever and its like 3 or 4 disc I forgot and im sure id probably run fine.

I guess my question is does anyone own the cd rom game still or has anyone played any of them on steam?

I own all cdroms, although I made copies of them to .iso files on my harddrive. Works like a charm.

Install -> start Fallout -> go to options -> click scrn -> set colors to 16bits -> restart game.

I had this problem too, and the High Rez patch thingie didn't work.

I found a solution myself however. The only problem with the way I have it is that all the videos are blurred. But, here is is:
