Post » Sun Nov 28, 2010 7:12 pm

Hey guys

I made my first world space! :celebration:
but when I want to try it out, i load the mod and start oblivion and it doesnt start on my island, but in the holding cell. default starting area?
now Im not that experienced but I know that i dragged a Xmarkerheading on to the island, nothing more.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance

EDIT
Okay I found a oblivion.default.ini file in my programs/oblivion folder and a oblivion.ini file in my games/oblivion folder
I tried editing SStartingWorld to the name of my world, and I added modname.esp to StestFile10 and all the way to StestFile01
but NOTHING works :S ?!

What am I doing wrong here?

Follow this part of the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/WorldBuilding_101#Part_4:_Are_we_there_yet.3F.21 tutorial. It works like a charm.

You did everything? Edited the ChargenQuestScript, edited the Chargen quest, created the activator and attached the script and dragged it to the location of your xmarkerheading which you named CGPlayerStart?

I've used this at least a dozen times without any problems and never edited a single ini file. In fact, http://www.wegame.com/watch/balzu-character-generation/, just extended somewhat. I didn't even know there was an option to change it in the ini.

Yeah I did all that. Everything dude, still doesnt work... I am running version 1.0 might that be the issue? I cant seem to update the game, it gives an error
every single time.

If you're running Oblivion 1.0 and using CS 1.2, that is likely the issue. What specific error do you get when trying to update your patch?

Ok I finally made it work, had to reinstall and patch up :) but now I encountered a new problem. The world has no graphics, well you cant see the water,
except when you're in it. Really strange, anybody know why?

EDIT: the water works, but the cell you begin in, the water loses its graphics from above, but you can still swim in it.? :S and the borderlines between the cells, are ugly grey, anyway to fix this??

Did you create the landscape in the heightmap editor or in the render window using the landscape editor? Missing land mesh can be the result of errors produced by the heightmap editing process. I'm not sure what you mean about the borderlines being grey. In the CS or in-game? If you're in-game, you shouldn't be seeing borderlines at all unless you have them activated. Or do you mean texture blending between regions? If you have the opportunity, screenshots make diagnosing problems much easier.
