NPCs roaming my home

Post » Mon Nov 29, 2010 9:57 pm

Hello, I made a house that has a teleport to every major city in Cyrodiil, I have noticed that the NPCs like using said teleporters and I would like them to stop roaming through my house and using them. How would I go about doing this? I have tried putting keys on the teleports but that is a quick fix that stops when I use them.

Also, I do not want the quest arrow showing me to use the portals as a faster route to another place.

Any help or advise in fixing my problem would be much appreciated.

Well, I figured out how to keep the NPCs out of my humble abode, but as for the quest arrow getting redirected, I am still clueless....

Teleports are considered 'doors' by the game and as long as you're them, the arrows will be redirected. You could use activators scripted with the Player.MoveTo XMarker command, or a single activator the gives you a choice of which XMarker to move to when activated. I use a similar setup in my modded home. I don't know how to get this to work for companions, though.

Check out how the teleport pads in Frostcrag Spire are handled, I believe they won't redirect the quest arrow (though that may be because they are one way)

Thank you, sounds like a great plan that would indeed fix my problem. Now to research how to go about writing up that script. Sad that I'm a script noob -_- Hopefully, Lokee's teleport suggestion will lead me to what I can at least use for a base script.

Frostgrag Spire's teleport pads are set up much like the ones in the Arcane University. it's not that they're one way, it's just that the portals in the Mages Guild halls are under the floor and the teleport markers (yellow boxes with the purple pyramid on them) are placed axactly where the door markers are. If you open the console and use the TLC command, you can access the portal again and return to Frostcrag Spire.
