How to use the Find Package

Post » Tue Nov 30, 2010 11:07 am

Hey y'all

I'd like to know how to use the Find package to begin my quest. I need an NPC to approach the player (preferably whilst they are sleeping) and begin a convo with them.

However on the Find package info window, it has a drop down list of cells that you have to choose from... does this mean the NPC will only find you in the location you choose from the drop down list or what?

Thanks in advance for the help =]

No, those are just the parent cells for a given reference, as most references have to start in a cell so you need to select them from one. You'll notice Player is in all of them.

I'd recommend using a Dialogue package for the Force Greet; not a find package; the NPC will find the player with that and then do the appropriate talking. You can monitor if the PC is sleeping in your script and for other conditions that you care about.

Do you need links to help explain how to make some of that happen or can you take it from there?

oo I didn't even know there was a dialouge package tbh, thanks! And I'm not sure about topics and stuff (I did a bit in morrowind but totally forgot it all now) but I'll check out the various tutorials floating around. Thanks for the offer tho =]
