Here is a site where you can get mods for FO1 and FO2 as well as tactics. http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php also you can find restoration packs.

I want a mod for fallout tactics or a cheat that can give us the heavy and light machine guns right at the start. I would like an M60 for the early missions. I think I just found it.

You can install mods... but if you expect quantity and diversity even remotely similar to FO3 you will be very disappointed. These games were not supposed to have mods.

I know that it won't be the same as fallout 3. I've seen the mods, and they seem to improve the games really good.

I'd recommend playing the games without mods first.

The restoration mod for fallout 2 is quite good but it really is best used on your second playthrough, not only because you will appreciate the changes more but also because there are some bugs that make the game disapointing. (for me when i finished the game i didnt get an ending 'video' it just went straight to the title screen...)

If you dont find a mod you could just use the editor and add a pile of gear where you start in the first map, i did, i added an edited power armor that had no disadvantages for my new character along with a sniper rifle... i did however feel a little dirty afterwards...

It seems to me that you're getting into those games with the wrong frame of mind. I know next to nothing about modding them but I assume that since they were not supposed to be modded (they were not released with any kind of editor or such tools) doing so would require a considerable amount of work and dedication - if not actual knowledge of proper programming. As I said I'm just assuming, but since you got the games less than a week ago I hardly expect that you are yet one of the 'dedicated fans'...

I would at least suggest that you'd finish playing them first so as to see if you even like them enough before you decide to get your hands dirty, and if not there are other games with usable and robust editors that allow you to get into modding straight away.

I've had these games in the past actually lol so i should be kind of dedicated... And i have already finished fallout 1, 2, and Tactics before. So yeah i know these games already, that's why i wanted to try something new this time around.

FO2's editor released long long after launch (I think it was when there was background work on van buren, and in concern about a possible upcoming canellation, it was released by a few devs on a "Caveat Emptor" basis, and it was released in a state that just doesnt match what editors that are commonly released today do. By all accounts, I've heard that its hard to work with and a lot of folk have given up despite their plans being amazing.

I think there may be guides at NMA, but if you're expecting to do anything serious with it, its impossible to overestimate the level of work you're going to have to do.

Modding old games is usually a nightmare. From what I've seen of F1/F2 it's far from the easiest thing to do. Sorry to rain on your parade!
