Deleting Quest Item: Repellent Stick

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 12:09 am

I've used the console commands in Oblivion a lot, so I'm guessing there must be one for Fallout3. I don't recall if I ever used one in FO3 before.

So I was going through Moira's quests, and she assigned me to go kill some mole rats with the repellent stick. A new dialogue option popped up ('ve played these early quests too many times already) and it seemed intriguing. Basically I told her "Don't write this stupid book," and my speech check worked. So the Wasteland Survival Guide Quest "finished" message popped up, and I got about 300xp and the "Dream Crusher" perk. She seems to give me great prices too . . .

But now I have a stupid Repellent stick stuck in my inventory. Just on the off chance it will still work, I've killed about 10 of them, but I doubt that when I go back to her, I'll get any dialogues relating to finishing the mole rat quest because I already got the message that the larger quest is over, and every time I go to Moira since then, she is clearly depressed, and only talks about how much more she gets done now that she is not working on that book.

At a weight of 3, this is not something I like having stuck in my inventory (I play low strength, stealthy snipers), so assuming that it doesn't auto disappear next time I go back to her, can someone point me to a good guide on the console commands or some similar way to delete that item from my inventory?

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_console_commands

Digging through that, we find...

player.removeitem - remove item from your inventory; useful to get rid of useless quest items

Now...ID for the mole rat stick...

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Repellent_stick

0002D3B7

So "player.removeitem 0002d3b7 1" should get rid of it. If for some bizarre reason you want it back later, same thing but "player.additem"
