I just can't get into Fallout 1

Post » Thu Dec 02, 2010 11:44 am

Hello!
I have Fallout 1 installed, i wanted to complete them in order (Fo1->Fo2-Fo3)
But i just can't get into Fallout 1, its a pretty good game, but i get bored of it :(
My question is: If i don't play Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, Can i still play Fallout 3 without missing out anything?

Sure, you won't miss anything, storyline or lore-wise, if you hop on Fallout 3 first. There are some references to the two previous titles, but other than that, the setting is already explained in Fallout 3's intro. And since Fallout 3 takes place on the East Coast, it's not a sequel to Fallout 2. While Fallout 2 was a sequel to Fallout 1 since your character was the child (or grand child?) of Fallout 1's hero, and it took place in about the same area.

Yep, Fallout 1 and 2 are entirely different games than Fallout 3. Who knows, maybe you'll be able to hop on back again. :)

Like Cliffworms just said, FO3 has no relations to FO1 and FO2, while FO1 and FO2 are sequels to each other, FO3 is a separate game entirely...

Personally I love all the Fall Out games, and I prefer FO1 and FO2 because I feel that it has a better story line and it is more interactive than FO3, but that is a matter of opinion.

Also, I'm not sure, but I think FO:NV is going to have much more mentions of FO1 and FO2, due to it being on the West Coast, because many of the old factions in FO1 and FO2 are making an appearance in FO:NV...

You'll miss stuff....
Nothing important.

Lots of the people who played FO3 (even a bunch on this forum) not only never played the old games, but never even heard of the old games.
