Glow Mods not working

Post » Thu Dec 02, 2010 9:32 pm

I attempted to try out a few glow mods for enchanted items but none of them seem to work. The mod only includes a textures folder which I extract into Data Files as instructed, but in-game the item glow stays exactly the same.I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure it out. Its a simple process no doubt. I made sure the items extracted correctly, still no change in the item glow appearance.

"No-glow" mods get rid of the metallic shader effect from enchanted items, but they do not have the ability to remove the effect that causes enchanted items to be illuminated in dark and in fog. That very issue however is addressed by one of the components in the Morrowind Code Patch. You can install that to see if it solves your issue.

If you still see the metallic shader effect after installing a no-glow mod, depending on which one you have downloaded you may need to activate the attached .esp file (if there was one included) from the Morrowind Launcher under the Data Files option.

My problem with installing no glow mod was: textures files when i downloaded mod were placed in 'magicitems' folder. I placed them directly into Morrowind/data files/ textures. And it appeared that the whole 'magicitems' folder must be placed in /textures folder and not textures separately..

You must do some attribute changing if you have the Steam version...

You have to redate your BSAs to their original 2002 date (you can use http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/File-Management/Attribute-Changer.shtml for this)
