First of all, I want to say how much I've enjoyed the SI expansion. How it's a great reprieave from Cyrodiil, in that it looks and feels very different, and even many of the quests are structured differently. I sometimes wonder if I'd still be playing Oblivion now if it wasn't for SI reigniting my love of it.

However, one thing puzzles me. The NPCs of SI. I don't mean the Golden Saints and Dark Seducers, who, although the game treats them as NPCs, are technically deadra/eadra. I mean the Imperials, Khajiit, Bosmer etc who liver there, in the cities and villages.
How did they get there before the Strange Door appeared?
Are there other portals from the other realms of Tamriel?
Were they taken by Sheogorath because they went mad?

One day it dawned on me that, although they live there like other people live in Chorrol, I've not seen any explanation as to how this occured.

Please enlighten me on your thoughts.

Ah, interesting thread, although no real answer as to where the people come from. Although, having given it some thought, I guess after the previous Greymarch, Sheogorath's had 1000 or so years to rebuild the realm so they could well be the ancestors of the 1st people who founf there way there. But how that happened is the same question really.


I did, but not any more. My previous character spend as much time in SI as in Cyrodiil, and had many items on display, one corner of the Teleport-to house mod I use was dedicated to the armour, weapons, cloths and crazy items of the isles. My current char hasn't been, and possibly never will. She's working through the Lost Spires and Kvatch Rebuilt quest mods, and I've never done the thieves guild or dark brotherhood, so there next too!
