Windows 7, 64 Bit

Post » Mon Dec 06, 2010 12:23 am

All excited that I finished building my new puter. Loaded Oblivion OK, but can't get any of the pligins to run. One error was "The secure loader used to protect this program has encountered a fatel error"

Would it be safe to assume that 64 bit OS is NOT supported?

I know Battlehorn does have an issue with a 64 bit OS, If you have access to a 32 bit OS you can install the DLC Bsa's and esp files and convert them into OMODs or BAIN archives that can be installed on your new PC.

Of course you can run Oblivion on Windows7 64-bit because I can so why shouldn't you be able to. Here can you read http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/561101-unofficial-technical-faq/ about the requirement for Oblivion and this http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/ has a lot of information as well. :)

Just saw the last post... I didn't know that about Battlehorn DLC and that might explain why I had so much trouble with a modded game for over 8 months now.

Get http://legroom.net/software/uniextract. use that to extract the installer. you may have to extract twice, once to open up the package, and again to actually open up the files. For Battlehorn, I think all there is, is the esp. and a bsa archive. grab those two, dump them into your data folder, enable the mod in whatever tool you use, and down the road you go...

So far as I know, the installers for ALL the DLC, don't like ANY 64 bit O/S.
