Terrible performance

I'm getting absolutely horrible performance out of my machine right now.

Phenom II x4 940 oc to 3.6
8 gigs ram @ 1000mhz
geforce GTX 570
1920x1080 res

With mods the game used to run OK as in 30-40 frames BEFORE i upgraded to 1080p from 1280x1024. In addition to the increased monitor size, i got a GTX 570. I figured i should have no problems running the game. I'm now getting worse frames than before, about 20-30. With mods off i get up to 60 out in the open but anywhere graphic intensive it drops to 15-20. i dont understand. Every other game i play has improved but oblivion is stumping me.

delete your oblivion.ini in My Games\Oblivion. Start the game, and let it redetect your hardware. (which it will screw up.) Use the launcher to revisit resolution, start the game however you normally do, and reset your graphics options in-game. Exit, reload, see if that helped.

If the resolution you play it is the ONLY thing that changed....... with that card, it shouldn't really matter. You might also try different drivers for your vid card.
