RP - The Portal

Post » Sun Dec 12, 2010 4:24 am

Twenty five years after the events of the Oblivion Crisis...

The black, oval, portal opened only a few days ago outside the city of Cheydinal. The guards have stood watch over it since it opened, Cheydinal had about one-thousand guards before the portal opened, only about fifty remain. The portal (or what resides in it) has a power to charm you to come into it. What is inside could be a paradise, or a world worse than Oblivion. The plants, the animals, the very ground around the portal has an evil aura about it, the plants wilt and die, the animals grow deathly ill, the ground will grow no crops. As each day passes, its expansion grows wider, and wider. Death has a way of appearing near this portal, and once in a while, a mysterious mage will come out of the portal, dressed in black robes, a black hood, black gloves, and black boots, with a scarf hiding all, but its eyes covered by its hood. It will say usually, "Tamriel shall bow before the might the King of Shadows, the Master of Unlife, the Scourge of Life... The Ever-Hungering Destroyer." Then it will enter back into its dark abyss.

Emperor Ocato has proposed an offer, one-million septims to stop this "Ever-Hungering Destroyer" and the eternal gratitude of the Empire. Who shall enter the portal, who shall defy the King of Shadows, who shall be brave enough to trek into the lair of Scourge of Life, who?

Warning: Your characters are likely to be killed in this, you are allowed to make new ones to come along, (thanks Wooly for the idea), if your character should die, you will most likely see him again, as one of my controlled enemies, serving the Master of Unlife.

They lived in the Fort, and fought with the imperials, however when times got bad, the lycanthropes were brave enough to attack. Karth's parents fought with the imperials, but were killed. The imperials rejected the young nord and sent him away. Luckily some Skaal Hunters found him and brought him back. He was trained in the arts of a Nordic Warrior, fighting to the death when neccesary. When he heard the story of the Nerevarine he decided he wanted to be an adventurer. He left Solstheim for Cyrodiil, and joined the fighters' guild. Fighting bravely for several years, he became a guardian, and until this portal opened up, he was content with his life. Now he feels he needs to prove his strength, by coming back a hero...

(thanks Wooly for the idea), if your character should die, you will most likely see him again, as one of my controlled enemies, serving the Master of Unlife.

You should leave this out of the OP and use it as a surprise.
