Fose Error! - Please, I Need Help!

Post » Mon Dec 13, 2010 8:59 am

Hi all!... I have an error with my FOSE!... When I run game with FOSE loader I get a error message which says: "A Component of the Fallout Script Extender has stopped working"
I have tried everything... re-installed my game, run it without mods activated, and so on...
I have installed FOSE correctly, as it says on the ReadMe

There is one thing I havent tried yet... on: http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/Fallout_Script_Extender
They write:
1. Extract fose_loader.exe and the necessary dll files to your Fallout 3 directory.
2. Open a command prompt window and navigate to that directory.
3. Type this into the command prompt:

fose_loader.exe -editor

But, I'm not very good with commando promt, and I have no idea how to navigate to my game directory, if anyone could help me with this aswell, it'll would be Super.
My game directory: C:\Users\ajanta\Desktop\Ajanta\Games\Fallout 3 - Game of The Year Edition

Please help me with this! I am eager to play the game with FWE - FO3 Wanderers Edition installed!
-Any help is very appriciated! Many Thanks!

Now I'm not an expert, but the part with "-editor" is only needed if you're going to use the GECk to create or edit a FOSE-mod.

What system is on your computer? XP, VISTA or WINDOWS 7? If you have VISTA or 7, it might be a problem with UAC (User Account Control). In that case you may have to install into a different folder, for example C:/Fallout3. I do not know if the folder DESKTOP is part of those plagued by UAC, but since it's a system folder, it may well be.

Apart from that you will have to wait until a FOSE-expert sees this thread.
