Censorship is a slippery slope that is held to the whims and sensibilities of a typically prudish minority. It's better to just have the option of free association than to deny people the right of self-expression. The internet isn't all that censored in this country. How often do you find yourself running into animals going at it because of that?

I don't run into animals going at it because I don't google that. But just trying to play a game and the guy who kills you has a picture of a zombie cumming in your face is annoying. Nobody wants to see that. He's doing that to annoy people and thats why COD has a "report offensive emblem" button. Express yourself all you want, just in a mature manor. A good qoute would be "Your right to swing your fist ends where the other persons nose begins" - a metaphor of course saying you have rights, but they stop when you invade other persons.

Can you show me where your right to not be offended, be it natural or civil, exists and is outlined?

I'm not going to look up the article in the constitution, but care to explain why you can sue for sixual harrassment or racial slurs that offend people?

Like someone said before, censorship is required, but there's a thin line between censoring inappropriate content and denying important information. That said, I think you guys need to calm down or continue ontopic or otherwise I expect a lock or a cleanup. No I'm not a mod, I'm just predicting the future here.

True. I can agree with that.

There is no article in the Constitution outlining such a thing, so don't bother. And the answer to your question is that people have been conditioned to believe that words and opinions can be equivocated with violent crimes that are worthy of restitution. Even when reaching decisions on obscenity in the legislative process, the most objective answer anyone could give was "I'll know it when I see it."

A custom map creator would be okay for playing with friends, but some custom maps (like halo forged maps) tend to svck and have problems, so when they show up on playlist, everyone starts complaining.

Well, it's quite simple. If you take an orb with a diameter of 5 meters, you will be able to see the future. All other orbs are fake.

On topic:

I'm not sure we should give too many options to people when it comes to custom maps. I might be offended by something some one creates. There'd have to be a "report offensive map" feature.

 Really? You're still on the offended part? What is your real opinion of customizable maps?

That is really my opinion. When you give people the freedom to express themselves, you open a pandora's box of offensiveness. It needs to be limited and censored.

This got way out of hand, and I have neither the time nor the inclination to tidy it up.
