Let There Be Darkness

Post » Mon Dec 13, 2010 11:19 pm

Hi, are there any known issues with Let There Be Darkness getting far too dark? I have used it in the past and it was WONDERFUL AWESOMENESS, but now it seems to be so dark, it looks unnatural when using a torch and is pure 100% black otherwise. I know for a fact it didn't look like this before. I have a long list of mods now but very few if any are light source related. I can post up a mod list however it will be pretty long. I have had no trouble with any mods or crashes aside from this.

Notice how the shading from the light fading back to darkness is far too sharp and quick and seems to immediately just turn black. I also can not see further at all than the exact point of the light source. I dont know if in the past I may have had a torch mod to make it brighter, but I am nearly 100% sure it was never this dark ever. Even the screenshots on the mod page on NEXUS are not like this. Notice the pure solid black immediately as the light source ends, there seems to be no fade from the light going darker.

With no light sources dungeons are pitch black. So it's the lightsource that seems to be your problem.

hmm, so how would I go about fixing that? i suppose your right that the light sources aren't radiant? or simply strong enough, but it still looks far different than what I originally had by just simply installing the mod in the past. Should I be looking for a mod to improve light sources?

thanks

If that picture is of you in the starting dungeon with a torch you find immediately after the blades open the secret dungeon door, it has a shorter range than regular torches. Why? If I recall correctly, it is placed by All Natural, so try making your way to the first fight, and using a torch found on one of the mythic dawn.

Of course this is assuming you are using All Natural Weather, and that torch is the one I think it is.

LOL, yes... it indeed was simply the torch Traeka mentioned. I feel incredibly stupid, I should known by now after these months of using mods I should have tested it some more first. ^_^

Everything seems to be working now, aside from the screen going black and then back to normal when the guards were fighting. Thank you all of ya! Also, I downloaded the Coms Torch mod as well thanks.

Would any of you also suggest the Real Lights mod in conjunction to this one?

Highly recommended! But use the version that is bundled with All Natural. It can be used with or without All Natural, and is an Arthmoored version of Josef K's original one.

Edit- Seems the torches will drop lit, but its not exactly dropping them when I swap to a 2 handed weapon or whatever like it says it does. I dunno, i guess its not that big of a deal, I am sure i am doing something wrong.

DOH! lol, now it seems when I drop a torch using DLT OBSE mod (because for some odd reason I installed the OOO one but it vanished). I just installed the All natural mod you suggested Petrus and its wonderful but now the small problem with when i drop a torch it doesnt stay lit. Ill try disabling mods one by one that I think may be the cause but I havent had any luck sofar.

Thanks
