Any news on animations?

Not at all, actually. They were pretty similar to Morrowinds. Assassins Creed is a persistent free roaming game that only came out about a year after Oblivion, with animations approximately x12,000,000 better.

Umm no, Assassins creed is not a persistent world, it's heavily instanced. Also, Assassin's creed is an action fighter game, the animations they have were like 80% of their work. Though I do have to say they were beautiful. As for Oblivions animations being similar to Morrowind's......were you high when you played Morrowind? The animations on Morrowind are HORRENDOUS. Oblivion has good animations. Not great but good. They were highly acceptable for a development time of 2002-2005 while Assassin's creed was 2006-2007. Btw, I miss Altair

That may have been the case.

I guess I was high when I played AC too because you're right, it isn't persistent...

Well anyway I hope they're drastically improved in Skyrim, more so from Morrowind to Oblivion. Rumour has it they're using motion capture.

Also, Alta?r is way more badass than Ezio!

Also also, regarding your signature, I find it incredibly strange that Daggerfall is your favorite, yet you prefer Oblivion over Morrowind. Is that with or without taking mods into consideration?

Assassins Creed does have beautiful animations, but they're all stiff and static as well. Blending of animations are the way to go without any doubt. Even Assassins Creed would benefit from it.

Povuholo is right - there's no sure way to tell until we've seen the actual gameplay.

Are you insane? Can you show me a game that blends animations better than Assassins Creed?

Not many, Crysis may be the only one. But that's because Crysis use dynamic animation blending specific. Assassins Creed doesn't as far as I've seen. The developers has just done a fantastic job on the static animations and blending of these. But there's no dynamic blending. Which is what Euphoria is all about.

Ah, right. All the more impressive on Ubisofts' part, for doing it all "by hand" so to speak.

Indeed, they've probably got some of the best animators in the business all together. Even the fact that every move the character does matches the architecture perfectly. That's not an easy thing to do! Every architectural block is probably based on the same scale that the animations are made for. Nonetheless, really really impressive! :)

But I still think Skyrim would benefit from dynamic animations. Walking towards and NPC in Oblivion and pushing him/her backwards results in the character just sliding. That's the sort of thing that GTAIV did that made me a little spoiled
