DId you also make a copy of the original normal map ( cuirass_n.dds) file ?? -- the normal map lets the game know how to handle the reflectivity of light on the item and without a normal map no light is reflected thus it dissapears ! -- for your purpose just making a copy of the original normal map and renaming it to match your new texture (with the _n.dds added) and placing it in the same folder as your new texture might work or if you made changes to the texture you may need to create a new normal map (get the http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html and read through the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Photoshop:_Normal_Maps_Basics
