Dunno man..honestly it makes me angry too to see all the views and posts on other topics.
Im hoping some of the Moderators or Admins begin to reply. We paid good money to play their
game looking for a little help from them and nothing.

I seriously think the game should work on your 'puter. Exactly what reads in the error message you get during the game launch?

'Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application'
same error for Launcher
same error for AutoPlay DVD

i know it's original ..and it works on other comps :(
... i don't have daemon tools or similar software.

goto you control panel->device manager-> find dvd A-> uninstall it-> same window goto tools-> click 'scan for new harware'
it will find and reinstall your dvd A and should work fine. as long as its a genuime copy of FO3.

Your initial dxdiag post showed Windows 7 @ 32bit. How did you switch it from 64 bit?

When you reinstalled Windows 7, did you keep it at 64 bit?

I noticed your system memory is low. Windows 7 should hum peacefully with memory of 2 or more. This game in particular requires 2 GB of system memory....so you have a deficit of 1GB; that may be why you get the crash.

I suggest you upgrade system memory first...give yourself 4 or 6 or 8 GB total. Then after that, do a clean install of the operating system. Make sure you get it to 64-bit.

After that, install the updated driver for the graphics card. But when you do this, do not install drivers for any other hardware (example: sound card, leave it for last; use motherboard sound for the time being).

[[Do you have available a different graphics card? I see a lot of people stating they have problems in forums (not just for fallout but in forums for other games I also play) and most of them have Nvidia or Vista or XP or 7-32bit.]]

Do this and post an update on your progress.

I reinstalled (not upgraded, i mean reinstalled with a full C format) I had x32 now i have x64

When you reinstalled Windows 7, did you keep it at 64 bit?
i never had x64... i always had x32 and yesterday i fully erased the x32 and installed windows 7 x64 ..

I noticed your system memory is low. Windows 7 should hum peacefully with memory of 2 or more. This game in particular requires 2 GB of system memory....so you have a deficit of 1GB; that may be why you get the crash.
i've got 3GB RAM and system Memory is set at 3GB also (page file) .... Either that or i don't understand what needs to be changed.

I suggest you upgrade system memory first...give yourself 4 or 6 or 8 GB total. Then after that, do a clean install of the operating system. Make sure you get it to 64-bit.
i have 3... don't tell me it's not enough to properly DETECT MY ORIGINAL CD.. that's my problem ...game doesn't crash since it won't load "ERROR: Wrong CD inserted"

After that, install the updated driver for the graphics card. But when you do this, do not install drivers for any other hardware (example: sound card, leave it for last; use motherboard sound for the time being).
Did not update any drivers yet.. will update Video only and try again.

Do you have available a different graphics card? I see a lot of people stating they have problems in forums (not just for fallout but in forums for other games I also play) and most of them have Nvidia or Vista or XP or 7-32bit.
You're telling me the Graphics card is the reason the Program says i have the wrong CD always?

Do this and post an update on your progress.
posting dxdiag in the next post so it's up to date.

also, guys ..sorry if i'm being a bit angry here it's just that almost 15 days have passed and I've tried everything to make Fallout 3 work...
but when Aeligos tels me that i don't have enough MEMORY for the software to detect my original CD it makes me really mad.
I think he didn't even read the post he quoted... (no hopes for the dxdiag)

This PC is a full 50% over your recommended setting.... it's not a Hardware issue it's a copy protection issue

Please don't reply if you don't even know what the issue is ...

The problem is the game display this error: "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application" whenever i try to run it [both the exe, launcher, and CD auto-play].
I reinstalled my Windows (clean install) same error

So,bethezda... you think you could help a guy out?

Heh... nice one guys... turns out as long as I bought the game i can legally use No-cd cracks right?
guess what... IT WORKS...

It bypasses CD-protection and lets me play...

So bethezda... it's been a few weeks, 1 windows uninstall, 2 hardware reinstalls andall sorts of f***ing up my system just to try to play the game and a freaking geek in russia or wherever gave me the solution in 5 minutes.

As far as i'm concerned your public relations policy su*ks big time, and the CD-protection you are using is buggy as hell (or you do not have the capacity to understand how to use it)...

This thread is closed on the count of you people being UNABLE to WRITE code UNABLE to use adequate CD protection etc...etc..

Thanks for nothing.

This is not an official support forum, we do not represent Bethesda or work for Bethesda. Almost all of us here are just volunteers, and admitting to using a No-CD/DVD crack is against the forum rules, since it is technically breaking copyright protection.

This board is hosted by Bethesda, but rarely will you find Bethesda employees in the hardware/software sections. Their official contact page can be http://www.gamesas.com/eng/contact.html But most likely they will just turn around and send you back here.
