Gear breaks

Post » Sun Dec 26, 2010 9:04 pm

Hello

I have a bit of a problem. I found the gear I wanted already in the start of my character. It is the Crusader set from Knights of the Nine.

Many levels later (30ish) I notice that my gear has started to go down really fast! I do not mean that it takes a whole dungeon or similar, no it takes about 3-4 enemies and I should repair. 5-6 I can be sure of that 3 items will have 0 durability.

I've been spamming a few Gates of Oblivion where you stay in combat (enemies nearby) quite some time and ye I walk around with no armour ^^

Sure it makes Armorer skill easier to level but it is still not fun :(

Edit: I play with a mace and shield, trying to block as much as possible :)

Edit2: Solved: I had to place the items on an armor stand in Knights of the Nine base and level them! :)

The Crusaders Relics are levelled items, You can reset them by placing the items back on the armor stand in the Priory of the Nine. You may need to make the armors and weapons compatable with your Load Order by using a mod patch if you are on a PC. Post your Load Order, and someone might be able to tell you a specific mod you need to fix your problem.

So there is a stand in Priory of the Nine and if I place my items on it they will gain levels? :o

Might aswell pull of another question.. I had Beautiful People mod which made all eyes look completely off, anyone knows what mod I have here that might have ruined that?

Thank you for your reply.

Another possibility what level are you currently at and are the enemies you are facing carrying a lot of staffs recently ? -- I seem to remember at a certain point it seemed that every enemy I encountered had a staff with a disintegrate enchantment placed on it.

If you haven't used the stand to level the armor, that's the problem.

For your question about which mod caused problems with Beautiful People?? TNR gives every NPC in the game a unique look, and I think (guess) that TNR and BP would cause googly and black/invisible eyes on NPC's.

It seems the two of you were correct. My shield became so much stronger even! =) Nice.. hope I won't become overpowered now. But at least that problem is gone. Thanks.. both of you :)

Did not seem to help very much. Hehe didn't even know what TNR did before! When I had played 8 or so hours and read loads on this forum it seemed to be peoples opinion that mods enhance the gameplay so much... I couldn't wait so I took the list of another forum member (had to leave a few things out since they crashed the game, while some made the game not want to start) and after finding, downloading and installing the list above I started to become a little sloppy in the end =)

Did you sort your load order with http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516? The crashes could be load order related if you haven't sorted it.
Make sure to read what the log says after you run it because it tells you if there are incompatibilities or missing patches and whatnot.
