Aylied Steps + Lady Rowenas & Nnws Ayleid Ruins Expanded

Post » Mon Dec 27, 2010 4:00 pm

I love the Aylied Steps mod; definitely one of the most brilliant mods for Oblivion, but I haven't tried Lady Rowenas & NNWs Ayleid Ruins Expanded Project yet. Will having both be too much, as in too many Aylied Ruins scattered about? Anyone played with both?

Ayleid Steps doesn't add ruins to the world, just stepstones, so I don't think you'd see too many ruins. I haven't used Ayleid Ruins Expanded, though.

The lost dungeons of AS are all submerged - or at least most of them, so they will not be like most ruins - you have to step to them.

Seems you should be fine.

Yes, Aylied Steps adds lots of Aylied Ruins, but they are "Lost Ruins", and as Psymon says (isn't that a game? :P ) they are submerged.
I'm not worried about conflicts, just worried that too much of the game will consist of Aylied Ruins.

Solution to that: install more mods that add other stuff too. ;)

Tough question to answer in any meaningful way, PetrusOctavianus. I have played both and don't find it adds up to "too much" for my game. But then, I am especially fond of Aylied ruins.

TAS adds 41 new dungeons, but not all them are Ayleid ruins - they are lots of caves and even a few fort ruins. NNWARE adds five new dungeons in the first series and 2-3 in the second (several of the mods in the second series modify existing ruins). I play with both; it does seem like a lot at times, but if you're tired of Ayleid ruins, just take a break from the steps for awhile. :) Both mods are well worth playing, IMO. BTW, I also use an http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12003 that makes them look a lot better and older; you might find it useful.

Hello
TAS and our Dungeons work without problems together, because we use TAS self....

NNWARE adds five new dungeons in the first series and 2-3 in the second

Series 1 adds 7 complete new Dungeons and 2 =>6

Only the Entrances from them are in existing ones... :banghead:

greetings NNW

Of the 48 Lost dungeons in TAS, 31 are purely Ayleid and 4 are Ayleid-Cave combos. The other dungeons are caves, catacombs, forts and the like. You can elect to use the Steps or not; and if you stumble into an Ayleid lost dungeon, you can elect to explore it or leave it (you'll get a mapmarker so you can investigate it anytime).
(Wait, did I say 48 dungeons? Yes, version 3.3 will be released in a week or so featuring 4 new Lost dungeons - 1 of which is Ayleid :P )

Heh, I'm convinced. I'll have my cake and it it too. :cake:
And I'm looking forward to the next version of Aylied Steps. Seems like many of my favourite mods will be updated by the time I'm ready to play. Hopefully that will be before the Football World Championship in June. :P
