Desperately need help?!

So yeah, I'm a level 5, no good guns or equipment. Hired Jericho cause he can kill loads of stuff and protect me 'cause I'm rubbish. Walking through this place to get to the vampire people and BAM. He steps on a mine :/ Crippled leg and nearly crippled body. I put 5 Stinpaks in his inventory before this happened and tried putting more in, but he doesn't try to heal himself. He just limps around smoking with one bar of health. I've tried waiting, sleeping and everything but he just won't heal, and if he doesn't get better then I've just wasted 1,000 caps. Please help me :(

He should heal if you go out of combat, or crouch somewhere. Try going far away from enemies, maybe fast travel back to Megaton, he'll heal then.

Including reloading a save from before he stepped on the mine, and disarming it before he steps on it? If not, try that.

No offence dude, but...how can you be rubbish at fallout 3? It is by far, the EASIEST fallout game so far. It isn't even hard on Very Hard...

Why don't you have any good guns? You know you can just buy them, repair them at vendors like Moira Brown.

If you svck so bad, lower the difficulty in the game options.

Yeah, I'll reload it. I've only finished 'Blood Ties' since I got him, and that was easy enough.

Your followers heal after combat. So, if a follower is hurt, you must engage in combat, be victorious, and he will auto heal to full health. It can be a measly radroach or bloatfly, and he will heal full strength. All of the followers that I use on a regular basis: Jericho, Clover, Charon, use Buffout during combat. Jericho and Charon slam that stuff down like ice cold Nukas. I give all followers 10 Buffout each, and replenish their supply religiously. Check their inventory after a particularly tough battle, and you will see how much they use. There doesn't seem to be any of the effects after your Buffout wears off: an immediate drop in health, for any of your followers. So stock up and give it to your buddies.

I would agree with reloading a save for this situation, as one bar of health, does not last very long in the Capital Wasteland.

Get a good weapon ASAP. Jericho can't do all the fighting. Besides, you might get separated at some point - if you use any of the expansions that take you out of the Capitol Wasteland, you will be.
