Cobl Races - Balanced

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 3:34 pm

Hey, is there any known compatability problems with using Realistic Leveling with COBL races balanced? RL works fine until I enable the COBL balanced esp and then the stats are incredibly high and I can no longer level up. Once I disable it again, RL works fine and once again I level up. I checked around forum a bit and see if theres any threads mentioning a problem with both these together but I haven't found any. Seems anyone who uses both has never had any problems.

Thanks

Cobl Races - Balanced changes racial stats I presume. Maybe you need to do a clean update of RL after installing that mod. I do not know how RL works exactly, but nGCD would autmotically recalculate the stats appropriately. I figured RL would have a similar feature. Try the clean install of RL after adding Cobl Races - Balanced anyway.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry, yes Coble Races - Balanced alters both the vanilla and cobl racial abilities and stats I believe. I did as you suggested and reinstalled the RL mod and I still have the same problem. :(

I recall I had this issue months ago as well but did not realize it was due to when I use COBL race balance. I could disable the mod and just play like it is, however I always feel the races aren't exactly even and with the additional COBL races things are quite a bit more imbalanced.

Thanks

I suggest posting in the Realistic Leveling thread. Someone there would probably be able to tell you what is going on fairly easily.

Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand your description exactly. What do you mean by "stats"? Do you mean attributes?
As far as I know, Cobl Races shouldn't touch the attribute values of the different races. Does the readme of Cobl Races say anything about updating your character if you're using it with an existing character? Since it's based on Race Balancing Project, I suppose that you have to do that, so maybe that would fix your problem.

In Race Balancing Project, all you have to do is open the console and type "startquest bgbupdate". Maybe there's a similar command for Cobl Races. I'm not sure how that could be related to your problem, but it seems odd that the two mods shouldn't work fine together, so I'm guessing that something like this is what's causing the problem.

But they are using Cobl Races - Balanced Which does alter the Races Attribute's.

Cobl Races by itself does not. Which may be a better Choice if using Leveling Mods like Realistic Leveling.

Sorry for the confusion, yes I was refering to Cobl Races - Balanced being the culprit. Cobl Races is okay and have not had any troubles regarding that but I found the balance between them pretty off balance without the... well balance part added to Cobl.

I believe Cobl Races - Balance is producing the correct starting attributes but RL simply is not registering them. I get the notification menu of the balance mod on the screen asking me of I want to use vanilla or the cobl balance every time but simply I can not level up at all no matter how many skill ups or how much time has been spent playing.

I will fool around with some of the RL console commands as well as any Cobl balance ones but until then I may have to wait for ABO to reply to his thread which might possibly ask me for a screenshot of the testdebug or conscribe.

Thanks
