Fose Is Freezing Up My Game!

Post » Sun Jan 02, 2011 5:42 pm

Hello everyone, I played Fallout 3 with no problems for over 30hrs on my PC. Now sense I have installed FOSE Fallout 3 crashes on start up at times and crashes during game play at random. Before I installed this mod I had zero problems with the game. I really want to run the game with this mod but if it keeps crashing I am going to have to remove FOSE and the mod. I am playing on windows XP 32bit my pc specs are below.

The odds of FOSE itself crashing your game are approximately 3,720: 1. Chances are, either something's placed wrong or a mod which requires FOSE has errant scripting which normally halts in FOSE's absence, sidestepping the crash. If you're sure that A) you have the most recent FOSE iteration and B) it's properly installed, post your load order (preferably with some sort of indication to show which mods you know require FOSE) and maybe another will have some insight.

Hmmm... DL and load http://www.mediafire.com/?52jfxhedmjn, then open the game as you normally would with that load order. Once in game, you will either be given 10 caps (if FOSE is actually loading) or your head will explode (if FOSE is not loading), then lemme know what happened? If a mod requires FOSE and FOSE isn't actually loading, the FOSE functions are alien to the engine and just might be causing your crashes, in which case you've probably just not installed FOSE properly.

Just to let you guys know, the OP stated in another thread that he had already uninstalled all of his mods. About two days ago I think.

What does that have to do with anything? I can reload the mods at any time. I still have the game saves and all the mods in a folder. If I can get it to work the way it is suposed to I would rather play with mods!

What is the proper way to install FOSE? If I remember right I unpacked it into the main fallout folder and then installed the exe. After that there was a FOSE icon on FOMM.

That would be the proper way. Are there any install directions on the FOSE page?

Then something else must have been messing up my PC. One of the mods must have been conflicting but idk which one?
