How do I get rid of the black fog?

http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss226/BOBSCL3WL3SS/MGEScreenshot3.jpg is what it looks like. It looks bad and I don't know what to do to fix it.

That appears to be an issue with MGE and you could probably try to recreate distant land/meshes and tweak the distant land settings a bit.

Although I have to say that looks absolutely fantastic. The foreground is too dark, but I love the effect it did on those distant mountains there. Or am I going mad?

I'm pretty certain that is a MGE issue, and you can find the solutions http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1113265-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/ you have to scroll down quite a ways to find it...

First of all, yor probably might try the latest MGE beta release, which is 3.8.2-rev.178. For any specific questions when the problem remains, take a look at the MGE thread. And remember to post some more information about what settings you are using, your OS and stuff like that.

reminds me of when i got it, think it was from AOF's shiny armor: http://i740.photobucket.com/albums/xx49/wollibeebee/MGEScreenshot51.png?t=1284847910 and the light from a certain angle was completely black.

I was having this problem with my new install just yesterday. I turned out to be HedgeHog-12's Better Rain that was causing it. Changing which mesh I used fixed the problem.

@Adul and Chaka ZG
The shadow effect does look really cool on the distant land, but it also causes(at least with my problem) the MGE rendered grass to be completely black. If it was possible to have just the distant land shadowed, and the grass textured normally it would be a great effect.

Bug or not, that is probably how it should look. If the sun angle is really that low, foreground objects are going to cast long, dark shadows. I've seen real places that look similar to that at dusk and dawn. That's why it's generally hard to see at those times.

Of course, in this case it's probably a glitch - but still...
