[RELz] Of Justice and Innocence

Post » Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:06 am

From the description:

In the small village of Dagon Fel there lives a woman by the name of Rinida Honwyer. She claims her poor, sweet innocent brother has been kidnapped by smugglers. This unfortunate outcome is a result of an unlikely series of events and her poor brother’s own naivety. Now Rinida fears for her brother’s life, sure that these smugglers mean nothing but harm towards him. But who here is the real victim? Is there indeed an innocent at all in this seemingly typical story of right and wrong? Where is the fabled call for justice? And just what role does justice play here anyway? That is for you, the player, to decide and find out for yourself.

Of Justice and Innocence is, at heart, a fairly typical story-driven “save the villager” quest mod. Or so it may seem. What you find, what you perceive to be the right course of action, is entirely up to you and there are a variety of ways you can complete the quest, each of which may or may not have consequences. In addition, Of Justice and Innocence includes (as part of the quest) a medium-sized dungeon for the player to explore and eventually rescue (or not) the poor brother of Rinida Honwyer. Recommended for levels 14 and over. Hope you all enjoy this little adventure, and be sure to leave feedback (especially if you find a bug)!

Each download includes two mod versions (“Of Justice and Innocence” and “OJAI – Framerate Version”), the latter is designed to provide optional frame rate for lower and middle end computers. Please see the ReadMe for specifics on which version you should use.

Greetings! This is the first time I’ve done a release thread for a mod I’ve worked on (I’m not much of a forum-goer), so just let me know if I’m missing any vital information. I’ve been hammering away at this mod for the better part of three months, spending about a hundred hours on the project (not including testing) coming to a grand total of one medium-sized dungeon (about 3000 hand-placed objects) and 28 pages of quest/document writing. I’ve tried to test this mod as thoroughly as possible, and I believe it’s now of release quality, but if anyone finds a bug, please report it! Comments, suggestions, and of course feedback are welcome!

Thanks for the support guys, it means a lot to me! :)

@ Pluto

I really enjoyed your Sable Dragon mod so it's awesome to hear you've liked some of my past mods too. Hopefully this one won't disappoint (fingers crossed).

Another Darkelfguy mod, woot, I absolutely loved the Haunted Inn mod, it was obviously, very lovingly crafted, and was extremely satisfyingly enjoyable! I can't wait to give this a go!

Oops, looks like I forgot something in the initial release. I accidentally left out the modDisposition and modReputation details for the quest ending. It's been fixed and re-uploaded as version 1.1. Really sorry about this oversight guys, I haven't had much sleep the past few weeks so my mind's a little fuzzy.

Sorry for the double post, just announcing that version 1.21 has been released (which fixes a few small issues and edits one of the journal entries). This should be the final version for the foreseeable future (of course now that I've said that someone's bound to find something that needs fixing :P). Thanks for the support and assistance with tracking down these last few issues guys, now I can get back to work on my other projects (hopefully). :)
