Fallout: 4 in LA?

Post » Sun Jan 09, 2011 2:55 am

I was thinking, would it be a good idea to have fallout 4 in LA? like in fallout 1, (Boneyard) or (Angel's Boneyard)
Wouldn't you guys enjoy roaming the ruins of Hollywood or Santa Monica,

My first choice would be the Commonwealth (Massachusetts), going back to LA doesn't interest me and I imagine Bethesda will specifically stay away from regions explored in Black Isles games. Perhaps Obsidian might consider it but I think even they would prefer new areas.

The story of the Boneyard has been told. Its inhabitants are now citizens of the NCR.

i'm in the los angeles area myself and georgraphy wise, it would be a good choice, there is varied terrain, hills, some flat area, mountains, city area, suburbs, industrial areas, its pretty diverse and its actually a great city to base a game out of. plus there are some historic locations etc, hollywood area, movie studios, stadiums, museums, old buildings etc.

Doesn't matter to me, I'd love any Fallout as long as it was in a big city. :fallout:

i agree roughnecks, i would like a fallout game with a GTA type of city, cities make good envirmoments for a fallout game, i prefer buildings, industrial complexes, neighborhoods, malls, schools, parks etc over wandering around in open areas.

Somehow I don't think LA's all that likely. Like others have said, LA's been done already, but I have a sneaking suspicion Bethesda's sticking to the east coast, as well as areas like Massachusetts and (possibly) Ronto.

If New Vegas does well, I'd expect to see Beth hire Obsidian again to do another spinoff game at some point, most likely set on the west coast (in and around the NCR most likely).

The way I sees it, east is Bethesda's baby, west is Obsidian's.

it prob won't be los angeles although it would make a good location, but i do think a big city will be part of a future fallout game, first of all, fallout 3 originally was mostly all city area and little by little the expanded the wasteland area and made the city smaller, new vegas is gonna have a lot of wasteland area, i just have a feeling fallout 4 is gonna feature a huge city but not like the DC area in fallout 3, you couldn't go in most of the buildings, the only settlement really in the city was underworld, rivet city was too but thats about it, i think they should make the majority of the map area city, kinda like grand theft auto type of city, with all sorts of different areas to explore, industrial, tall buildings, apartment complexes, neighborhoods, commercial areas, parks, maybe a port, shipyard area, stuff like that.

As much as I'd love to replay the first 2 (3) games updated, I don't see that happening. It depends which story they build off of. I think Hustons a good prospect if they jump over Arizona or possibly the Commonwealth if they stick to the east coast.

In the U.S.? I'm kinda curious about Hawaii.

Outside of the U.S.? That's a tough one. Antarctica maybe?
