Won't Install

I just found my disc after its been missing for awhile and so when i tried to install the game, it says

Anyone knows what that means

It means that it cannot read the disk. Is the disk dirty/damaged? Do other DVDs work in the disk drive? Are you able to install the disk on another PC to test the disk?

I'll try, I just went to the folder it created and deleted all the info just in case there was something leftover from when I installed it before I lost it and now it says this

It is pretty scratched up.

It is pretty scratched up.

Yeah, a CRC error means that it is not getting the same mathematical value that is on the disk when it tries to copy it over to the Hard Drive. (Basically cannot read it). If it is scratched, then that is most likely the problem.

ok. ok. I did just get a games for windows live update on my windows update so maybe that'll help.

It's not going to help your disc at all, it's either dirty or damaged. Getting a Cyclic Redundancy error means that your computer can't read the disc properly, either because the it's dirty or damaged or because your drive is faulty. No outside software is going to be able to help with that. Try giving it a cleaning, that might work. Otherwise you're SOL.
