Vault Sliding Door problem

Ok I made new textures for vault doors for my upcoming mod....The problem is the Sliding door. The texture for the door switch wont work. Its always red or any other color....here is a picture link: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/1661415-1271398347.jpg Notice the switch....Even when I use nifscope and change its texture(vault door texture) its either black or blue(default colors for a vault)....please help

I can't see the switch to see what the problem is. Put the door in a well lighted area or turn your pip-light on before taking screenshots of it.

Black usually means you do not have a valid normal map associated with the object.


How did you retexture this door? Using a Texture Set (the preferred way) or by copying the NIF and changing the texture paths in Nifskope? (not necessary)

What this looks like to me is he used a texture set, but covered EVERY branch of the door with his texture. Resulting in the black switch/wire effect. Simply go back into your new door, click edit model, and remove your texture set from everything until it ONLY changes the center yellow part to have your custom thing (which is a 9?) Then it leaves everything else alone, and the switches and wires remain colored in properly.
