What advantages should nords have in skyrim?

Post » Sat Jan 15, 2011 2:01 pm

besides the obvious resistance to cold, what other advantages should nords have since its their native territory.

drinking mead give them a boost in damage resistance.

drinking mead increase their attack power.

drinking mead increased their strength attribute by double what it normally does to other races and doesnt affect their intelligence.

drinking mead could boost their speechcraft........who doesnt love a drunk nord.

drinking mead allows them to use special attacks similar to the drunken master kung fu style........only with axes.

drinking mead very rarely causes the character to pass out and wake up in some random location without their clothes. i would make this somethign like a 2 or 3% chance at most.

drinking mead will cause you character to start telling some random totally [censored] story that you as the player cannot stop until it is over with......this of course would only occur if you did it in someones house or a bar.

drinking mead will give a small boost to some random skill on very rare occasions.

any more ideas? :)

Well...what advantages did the dunmer and imperials get in their homeland? The only thing I can think of is being part of the majority, instantly making them decently liked by half the population right away.

I look over the OP's list and find myself asking, "Why would just being in Skyrim affect a Nord so?" The only answer I can think of is that it wouldn't. Therefore, I say no to all of those. Just being in my home state doesn't get me any special perks like that. Sure, it may get me in-state tuition, but that's not the same thing.

They can ride every creature in Skyrim, even mudcrabs.

They can drink infinite ammounts of Meade and it only makes them stronger.

They can swim through snow.

They can carry hammers the size of trucks.

They can eat a snow whale in one sitting.

Other than maybe a slight disposition boost with the Nord natives, not a whole lot I would think. As far as I can recall, there were no distinct advantages in Morrowind or Oblivion for being the dominant race of the region, other than not having Dunmer sneer at you of course.

yes but only if they make it so that you ride erratically if you drank mead

already mentioned :)

not sure how that would work since most drunk people just make snow angels

no.........i HATE oblivions warhammers.

what is a snow whale? someone else posted about that as well. a big nord should be able to eat a mammoth in one sitting.

Oh, they still sneered at you. Even though you were Dunmer. I don't know if it was the way you walked, you speech, or just the way you composed yourself, but to natives it was obvious you weren't from around there. You were still an Outlander.

I would think resistance to cold would be pretty significant...

Ah yes, I remember. I was only about 12 when I played it but I was so offended by their complete lack of decorum, I just started playing as a Nord mostly.

Now that I think about it, maybe a slight boost against the local wildlife considering their likely experience with it.

HAHAHA these would be the perfect bugs that Bethesda should include just for squeekers, who obviously does not play as a Nord. I hope they will need to add the bugs this time, so they may as well make them very exciting. They won't ever rival these Red Dead Redemption bugs, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sTonjFnE94

As usual Rockstar wins the best bugs competition. However, if Bethesda includes these bugs I am sure they will win this year. And I am still hoping for a humorous talking mudcrab helmet that makes headcrab noises, buys loot, and kills you when you try to take it off.

They have the advantage of dying from me casting spells at them

They have the advantage of dying from me stabbing them (repeatedly if necessary)

They have the advantage of being stupid (that can only be an advantage if you're a nord or an orc :P)

Yeah I think that about covers all the advantages they get :P

I am from Indiana.

So, you see while I am in indiana I can:

besides the obvious resistance to corn, I care little for when the weather changes expectantly.

eating corn gives me a boost in damage resistance.

eating corn increases my attack power.

eating corn increases my strength attribute by double what it normally does for other people, and I can actually digest the kernels now.

eating corn boosts my speechcraft........Mmmm corn.

eating corn allows me to use special attacks similar to the drunken master kung fu style........only with corn.

eating corn very rarely causes me to pass out and wake up in some random location without my clothes. I wish this happened less.

eating corn will cause me to start telling some random totally [censored] story that I cannot stop until it is over with......Mmmm...corn.

eating corn will give a small boost to some random skill on very rare occasions.
