imo we shouldent have charecter gen sliders- bodies should change depending on stats

agility-removes fat, makes some some muscles bigger
strength- increases mucle tone
endurance- makes body larger

or something like that

No. I don't want my character's appearence to change without my approval.

I think that's an Orc. There is quite a greenish tone to the skin.

Customizable body types are almost certainly going to lead to a probably second version of the "I'm Fat" machinima. This time, with an Imperial that is actually fat.

I want an ultra muscular wood elf named Glenn Danzig.

I want that EFFIN fountin' with the EFFIN elf blood. (direct quote from Glenn in Aqua Teen)

I also think the guy getting stabbed is an orc.

And as far as Attributes affecting appearance, Strength would make muscle bigger, Endurance would make it more toned, and Agility would...make it even more toned...

I can totally dig how some people would like this but I would hate the [censored] out of it for this game.

I want complete control over my character and their appearance. It would be a deal breaker for me.

That would be my dream with this new engine. The ability to change the body sliders. That would be sick, now I don't have to worry about a tiny Male Bosmer. I can have him be 7 feet tall and more menacing then a Nord.

Sounds like the devs don't want us to be limited to the racial stereotypes, meaning you can be whatever you want to be. A SUPER BUFF BOSMER WARRIOR! ROAR! Or a skinny nord mage without the race restrictions.

I think that body sliders will be a great addition to the game, but if you think about it elves are usually slimer than other races because they are viewed as a fair and elegent race. Just think about the Eragon books the elves in the book are very slim, but are about 8 times stronger than humans and they could move at lightning speeds and the weakest elf can over power the strongest human. :grad: :D

And it's not our "opinion" it's just the history of the game has shown that Orcs/Nords tall bulky, Wood Elves short and slender, and Everybody else in between. Then you have generalized fantasy versions of elves, who are almost always slender, occasionally tall, and then you have folkloric elves who are really interchangable with dwarves, fairies, etc, being diminutive to the point of hiding under mushrooms etc.

What history? No game thus far has detailed what the "maximum" musculature each race can achieve would be, and all games have depicted every person as having the same average build. All we have to go on are stereotypes, and that doesn't mean jack [censored] on an individual level.

Yes, because Eragon is what we should base all our fantasy conventions upon.

Racial “norms” shouldn’t play much of a factor in character creation.

Just cuz most Bosmer are small, doesn’t mean they are all, always small.

I mean they never added limits to skin tone because of race or anything.

I do like the fact that they have buff body styles now though. You get this image in your head of what and who your character is, and in my case I usually play a Nord warrior. To have a character who should look physically powerful and instead he looks more like a marathon runner, more lean rather than bulk. I love the screens I've seen so far and yeah I read something about customizing body shapes. That is an amazing feature, even if it is only slight.

Also, I hope they give the characters, at least the male ones, a better walk animation--one that is less girly :P Oblivion has very amusing male walk animation. Too much but wiggle. It's really funny. :P

"Girly" isn't really what comes to mind when I think of the default walk animation. I really don't see what was so horribly wrong with it aside from a bit of stiffness. And girls, aside from swimsuit models, really don't wiggle their butts that much. The "supermodel walk" isn't realistic in the least.

My only gripe is the fact that Nordic women are taller than Redguard and Imperial men? Yeah... ok

Beth needs to fix this since Noirds will be everywhere in this game. Along with the body types

Biology in Nirn is different than biology on Earth. Females are only slightly smaller than males of the same breed, and strength differences are minor as well.

Male and female characters in Oblivion share the same animation skeleton, and by default if I recall correctly, the same walk animation. Different animations help, and have been modded into the game, but the identical skeletons will always make it look weird. Also why women in Oblivion have disproportionately large hands.

I've heard people say we'll be able to edit the PC's body, but I don't know where this information came from, because it's not in GI (unless I missed it).

It is, it says so on a short note on one of the pictures.
